Why in the world would you tint your windshield? That's just stupid.

    * BAMF Grille *50% tint driver/passenger front window * NFAB steps * Bakflip F1 tonnaeu * Bed extender * Bed mat * Weathertech digital floor mats * Black reflective Tacoma tailgate decal
It's the trendy thing to do for athstetics.

Theres a misconception going darker offers better UV and heat protection when in fact just using higher quality film at higher percentages does the job better where you can keep the winshield virtually clear and do a darker brow tint to the As1 line and have all the benefits.

I can't judge though since I did my front doors at 50% which is illegal in CA. The shop I use won't touch a windshield if the customer wants under 70% below the As1 line.

It's not my cup of tea, just had 6 cars tinted over the last five years and got to know my tinters and bs with them and what types of application requests they commonly get.

What is the factory tint (%) of a 2016? Brand recommendations and tips how to find a good shop? Also, (will vary from state to state ) average price?

I went with 21% all the way around. Love it.

Bilstein 5100s all around, Toyo All Terrain AT II 285/70/17, Custom Car Grill, front windows tinted at 35%, door still protectors, bed Matt, tail gate lettering, center console organizer and detailed with Adam's Polishes products
I think the factory back windows are around 28% if I remember correctly. I went with 25% up front because that's the lowest I could go here in Texas and I also dos the same for the eye brow on the windshield.

I asked around and did some on line research and I'm very happy with the guys who did my tint. It was $69 for the front windows and eye brow.

That is cheap. I had my driver/passenger windows tinted at a tint shop in Vincennes, IN. for $110.00 took him all of 35 minutes to tint 2 windows.

Not stupid at all. I have my entire windshield tinted at 50% on my Acura TL and will do the same to my Taco when I get it in January. It makes a huge difference in the summer time when you are driving down the highway for long distances and the sun is baking on you the entire time. Plus it looks good IMO. Is it illegal in my state (Ohio) you bet it is! I just use my parents Tennessee address to get TN plates for my car and problem solved! I just have to be careful when driving in TN, but that isn't very often that I am down there.

My tint guy/buddy metered the rear at 26%. He installed Suntek ceramic 25% on the fronts only and it is a pretty close match.

Does the factory privacy glass block UV?

sure it looks cool but one might as well wear sunglasses at night while driving.

this is a general statement. Anyone who has a tinted windshield is a dip shit and i hope they run someone over and gets the pants sued off of them.

I'm not bitter about it at all.

It really is the most ridiculous and stupid thing to do. I'm not the one that will possibly say " I ran over a child at night because i am a asshole who tinted his windshield, I'm sorry for my truck had to be so cool and panty dropping, fuck safety"

Another addition to my ignore list. Guess swearing like a sailor makes him feel like a UFC fighter.

    Indeed.

I didn't realize they made Soldiers so sensitive these days.
