    Dang I missed you Theo!

Nice shot! I haven't been up there in years. It's easy to forget about some of the awesome places in our back yard. Thank you for sharing.

Yep. It's a lot more fun as part of the JMT, or via the mountaineers route. One of these days I'll do the East Buttress. So many other places without the headache though. Not that my rack sees much use these days....

When did you go? Did you take the trail up or did you do a more technical route? Were there many people going up when you went?
    Haha thanks in advance.

July 20, 2013. Two weeks after, a friend attempted the summit via the same portal trail route and got denied because of snow. We didn't encounter a ton of people but it was definitely more crowded than expected. Either way, if you have opportunity to do, do it. It feels good to accomplish it. I did it just over a year after broken hip surgery after a few people (some close to me) said I wouldn't make it. Screw the haters and take your time.

Well the smelt are back for sure as they stripped the bait all day. Between me and the ol man we caught 11. Five kelp bass and a nice cab and a whole lota jack smelt. Haven't surfed there but they do get some great waves. jalama is just south of this place and when it's firing the wave are huge!

I've never fished goleta, only gaviota before it washed away. I only ever caught sand sharks, smelt, perch and the random leopard shark. My buddy always said he did better down there tho
