Yup, call it force of habit. Saving has always been easier to me than messing around with that last chance on hacking. Lock picking has become easier, but only because there is now no way to lock pickup above your lockpicking perk level. It's a trade off... honestly I don't like it.

I have so many bobby pins it doesnt even matter. And then theres the unbreakable bobby pin perk, practicaly useless.

Okay guys, I get it, you don't save before hacking and lock picking because you have all the badass perks that stop lockouts and bobby pin breaking. It was just a comment. A lot of people who have play the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series under Bethesdas leadership save before doing either. Call it stupid time wasting, but it has worked out well for me in my very humble, clearly insignificant to you, opinion when hacking. I agree, for the lock picking, it's become a bit of a waste. For whatever it's worth to you I find the new lock picking rules stupid. I'd rather bust 10 lock picks getting into a master lock than have to try and mark all the safes I bypass because the game won't even let me try those locks until I have the correct maxed out perk. You only get to level 30-40ish on average, and yes many of you might be level 100 because of all your crafting and hours, before you finish the main quest and with all of the perks you need to just modify weapons plus have decent settlements I'd rather not waste half a dozen try to max out my lock picking and hacking skills.

    To each there own.

I went through the other day and got food, water, beds, and defense up on every settlement, all 17 of them.

One settlement was up to 22 people last I looked. All but Sanctuary are up in the teens.

Sanctuary is 'stuck' at 9. I was at 10 for forever, and I sent a settler to the Castle when I took it. Still won't go up from 9 for some reason, even though everything is high green with 80+% happiness and lots of resources to spare.

I actually misread a few posts there . My bad. Too much time in the third Gen forums I guess has rotted my brain. So is there any point to settlement happiness? Does it attract more settlers or have a real effect on the storyline?

Nope, there's no wait period after backing out of terminals now. Unless I have some perk or read a magazine that allows that. I do have an extra guess on terminals though.

I hope someone with better googlefu than me has seen this before. I'm on Xbox One. A little while ago, I'm not sure how long ago, I started not being able to place objects on the ground sometimes. Basically, when I go do some settlement building I can no longer move objects in the y axis. It's making it impossible to build. I've tried restarting the game and I'm not sure what else to try. Anyone have any ideas.

BTW buying a PS4 copy is not "an idea".

Nope. I won't be buying another copy just to fix a glitch. Not at $120 a pop. I'll just wait for this one to be fixed or reinstall if that's what needs to happen.

Fixed it. Okay guys, apparently this happens to both PS4 and Xbox versions. In order to get a fix you need to completely shut your console down. Disable any fast start options on your system, shut it down, and then restart the game. If you have the fast start option enabled the memory that contains the error is never flushed, and the error just sticks around with you forever. Even if you go back to another save it will probably occur again at some point. Here is someone talking about it on PS4 and the fix on Xbox One. I found the solution by talking with a few guys on another forum. Thank god for forums and Bethesda PATCH THIS SHIT!

My Sanctuary settlement was stuck at 9 forever but now it's come up to 12

Do you have extra beds ?

The terminal lockout is only 10 seconds and I think I have like 70 bobby pins

I had a minor annoying glitch today . I'm Level 19 now and have mostly been doing the Minuteman missions , side missions and settlement building but the Minuteman missions started to repeat so I decided to do the retake the Minuteman castle mission , long story short we killed off all the Mirelurks and destroyed some of the egg clusters , then did the Queen Mirelurk boss battle and killed that thing off , then went up on top of the walls to finish off the egg clusters which I did but the mission stats wouldn't recognize that I had destroyed all the nests leaving that mission stat unchecked so it wouldn't prompt the ending . The Mission Stat said I hadn't destroyed the nests ( even though I had , I checked 5 or 6 times ) but I should meet the Minutemen in the courtyard but only one was there , 2 were killed and no Garvey , plus the map showed a marker that I should meet the Minutemen in the Courtyard in a location half way across the map

Had to reload a save from before I met the Minutemen outside the castle , hope it works properly on try # 2

I had the same glitches on that mission.

Also doing a minutemen mission now and it requires a master hacker skill. Cpuldnt find the password anywhere to circumvent it though
