I am posting this mainly for anyone else searcing for info about these units.

I have had Pioneer AVH-p1400 dvd in my truck for the past 3 years.

I have been looking into upgrading to the pioneer avh-p270 bt as of recent.
    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-270BT

While researching the unit, I had contacted pioneer to confirm whether this was a direct plug and play. They did confirm that it was the same exact harness and i could literally unplug the old unit and plug in the new one as they have no harness revisions in there database for these particular units. (They were incorrect)

I scored a 270 today for dirt cheap at the local audio shop as part of black friday deals. Which is awesome. I was there to get remote starters and i noticed it in the sale. Score.

So i get home and rip the dash apart to find out the harness from the 1400 is not plug and play with the new unit. I am sure if the pin connector was reversed it would have worked, but that was not the case.
Yes i was pissed because i thought i would be up and running in an hour after routing the BT mic.

Now i have to cut and re-wire the harness. Not the end of the world but I figured i would post this for anyone messing around with the same units and curious about compatibility.
