I have been trying to figure out the best recovery point for my truck! The stock point in my opinion is not great. More so the mounting location, it is in front of the crumple zone so if some one gave you a good tug my thought that it could stretch the frame at that point. I have a ARB front bumper and it is mounted mostly in front of the crumple zone. I am ok winching on that because it is a steady constant pull. I would like to incorporate a swivial style shackle on the front of the bumper but tie it back behind the crumple zone. Any ideas would be great!! I have also seen a recovery point on the fj cruiser that mounts back behind the crumple zone I think (road runner) in Australia makes it. I might be over thinking this but again any input would be great!

Weld a hook directly to the frame and box in the crumple zone portion.

This is what makes no sense to me.

Every recovery is going to be different .

unless you plan on getting stuck the same every time.

Then maybe this is just the mall crawler truck look your going for.

Slings and short chains if the sling could be cut allowing you to attach to the best possible option for recovery.

Hi Wyoming, I am not following you. You are correct that every recovery will be different. But I am looking to have solid point to attach to in the front of the truck. I have good points on all sides but the front.

Depends just what your stuck in .

Do you need a straight pull ??

Then Maybe your bumper is on the ground.

Then hard points as low as possible .

Then if the front is stuck most times you would want to recover from the rear .

    Then rethink the problem .

I know some people think it is just more fun to get even more stuck that being fun!!
