I assume you bought the sr model which has power locks but no keyless and no alarm.

I bought the same model. If that's the case. I had the viper 5706 remote start installed on my truck. It added keyless, remote start and alarm system, 2 way remote w screen. I had an H key so I had to loose a key, so I had the dealer cut me another one.

I had bestbuy install it but I was told to stay away from bestbuy on these forums . Of the 3 bestbuy a in my town. I had 1 store that has a guy who's into his work so he did a great job on both of my cars. If you can find such an instsller. Go for it .

With the key from the dealer. The remote start unit and other misc items. I paid around $600. Which is a small price to add alarm keyless n remote start.

If you wanted to spend a little less. You can get the next model down. It's still a 2 way but no keyfob screen and no alarm. Should still be able to add keyless with 2 way remote start . That system will be $200 less, so $400. $350 or less if you catch a good sale. Black Friday is coming up.

Just a warning. If money's an issue. Wherever you look. Whatever advertised price you see. Add about $100. It can be misleading when they have a price tag of $200. But when you add misc required items. Might come out to $300.

Nothing wrong with you using best buy for install. The reason I say that I everyone missed what you kept repeating, that you have a GOOD INSTALLER. It doesn't matter that he just happened to work there.

In fact the best audio / car installer I had in my area (and there is a lot to pick from) worked at Future Shop. Everyone knew him and how good he was. The local / independent shops tried hiring him out several times but couldn't give the same benefits he got with a larger company.

So, just use a shop or store that is known to have a good person. If you want to get an idea go and ask to see their personal car. If it's a pile and the radio is hanging out of the dash, move along. If it's show car quality then you have a decent chance your guy is picky and will do a good job.

Why is that crazy? What is wrong with people these days? Sorry a 2 month wait for product development is not crazy.

probably not quite that easy. youll have to replace the door handle and such as well. also tied into all that is the push button start.

Probably the difference between a good installer and a bad one.

Are you sure he hooked up the shock sensors??

Mine works fine. When it's a moderate tap. it beeps 3 times. When it's heavy. Alarm goes off. Either one alerts my fob too.
