    2005 4 liter 2wd 4 dor pre runner
    I have an '05 prerunner. Brakes have never been great. Replacing master cylinders every 40,000. Any known problems that could be causing this.

    Welcome to TW. Have you flushed the brake fluid? It is likely quite old, this would also remove air from the lines. Have you pulled apart the rear drums? Could be worn pads in the back take longer to engage causing the brakes to feel mushy. Are you on stock tire size? Oversized tires will decrease braking ability.

    Moisture in the fluid = Corrosion.
