Sup fellas, I'm really new to all this, but I just picked me up a new camera on Black Friday kind of on a impulse buy, but it seems like it was a okay deal, looking forward to learning lot on here!

Haven't been out shooting in a while. Just walked around a few areas of a lake by the house. 20*, overcast skies and no fog, tough conditions, still fun to get out though.

I hear you Murph! Flip side to that is I have resisted. The 3 Pentax Prime princess lenses are the lowest price of the season, in fact lowest in years. And speedlight kits too. I've managed to not purchase anything but kind of regret it too. Including the battery grip... LBA- lens buying addiction is a terrible disease but I figure I have a long ways to go yet before I will do them justice. Enjoy your new orders!

Hey guys, quick question. I was recently voted in as president of my photography club. I think mainly to just get someone young in there lol. I've got some ideas as for activities and presentations, but I'm wanting to hear some input from everyone. So...
Does anyone here belong to a club?
If so what are your favorite activities or presentations you have seen or done in your club?
If not in a club, what would you look for if you were to think about joining a club?
Side note, the club is just over 100 members and about 30 are regulars and we meet twice a month.

Very nice. My only advice would be to focus the camera on the eye closest to the camera (in this case they are pretty much the same) rather than the tip of the nose like it is in the picture you posted. You have to be very precise with such a shallow depth of field. Great looking pup! It'll make a great holiday card.

thank you very much! I was lucky enough, my wife let me upgrade my nikon d5300 to a full frame nikon d750(I know its probably way too much but when i get on something I go all out) I love looking at pictures of everyones on here. going to take some scenic shots with my new 16 Tacoma soon when i get time and weather permits. what are some good options for an all around lens for a full frame nikon. I have looked around a lot but it seems like everyone has about 20 favorites. This is so overwhelming lol

Im currently using a 35mm nikon lens from my old camera and have a 24-120 mm kit lens that came with my d750

Last night I decided to play around and manually adjust the F-stop for a change, while shooting the quickly setting sun. No post editing except cropping. Too bad I didn't write anything down. Baby steps. sunset1.jpg sunset 2.jpg sunset 3.jpg sunset4.jpg

Its a nice photo composition ally and exposure wise. But focus is way off. The truck isn't in focus at all, the street about 10feet infront of it is. When dealing with low Aperture settings, hitting the right focus is much more important.
