    They are because of their inability to crush in one direction with out having two sides to brace it. But for square and round tubing it is only similar in the case of the largest diameter of the pipe pushing on the side of the piece
    If you were to press down on the tubing like a table leg then the round tube would be stronger then the square. It depends on your direction of force. I can post pics of my old truck when I got t boned and the Dom tubing (yes thinner) barely dented and the square not even bowed a bit, with the rest of my frame looking like an s.

    It wasn't my truck these pics were sent to me by my cousin it wasn't his truck either I post it here just so 2nd gen owners be aware of this issues.

    Glad it wasn't yours at least! Still. The idea this could happen to an otherwise we'll services truck would be freaky.
