    Hey I'm new to this. Anyway I'm looking to buy this Tacoma that is 4wheel drive. It has a brand new short block with 45,000 miles on it and I have all the maintenance records for it. but my concern is the trans and t case that have close to 300,000. i just want to know how long is a trans good for when maintained properly.

    Any records for the transmission ?
    Did they install a new clutch when the short block went in ?
    Its a tough question over a keyboard '
    Why not take it to a transmission shop for a " FREE " road test . Those guys will be able to tell you a lot about the condition of the drivetrain just by test driving the truck
