    It's 10.2 miles, means nothing.

I can find downhill grades all day long that are more than 10 miles, not nearly enough of a sample. Also, he's driving a 4x2 and doesn't have the parasitic drag of a 4WD system. Even as anecdotal evidence it's pretty damn weak.

Taking 5 minutes to reach 50mph isn't the way to good mpg. I accelerate 1/2 throttle or harder but shift at 2000 rpm with my stick. The new automatic is trying to do the same thing, shifting early, which some don't like.

Well, it works for me. My regular commute is 5 to 10 miles to work, or to the regular places. Sometimes the 20 miles drive. My MPG hasn't changed after removing the air dam, so it works for me. I am glad I removed it.
You guys should do your own 10, 20, 50 and 100 miles tests.

I agree. It's all about a way of driving and the shifting.

Yea, agreed. I try to reach target speed fairly quick without driving like an asshole. I then put it to cruise and let the truck do all the work.

Certainly doesn't look "meaner" without it.

I'll lol every time I see a '16+ none OR with the air dam removed.

I plan on keeping mine on for daily driving and taking it off when I go off road. I'll put it back in for daily driving to the office.

Anyone in the Austin or San Antonio area should discover Hidden Falls Adventure Park.

    http://www.hiddenfallsadventurepark.com

I've only explored on my dirtbike but there are plenty of 4x4 trails to make for a fun day.

From this angle is there anyone that believes that the air dam doesn't reduce wind resistance and increase MPG beside j102?

Imagine that air moving around the front tires instead of into the tire and LCA.

    Ok. You win.
But I'll keep mine off because I have not seen any changes in MPG.....and I'm loving it!

If you've taken the air dam off, and have no skid plate, there is a lot more exposed junk under there to make things turbulent and increase drag. With no air dam, a good coverage skid plate should help reduce drag and streamline things.

Yeah, I realize I just used "exposed junk" in a perfectly PG post.

I would love to know a few details about everyone driving conditions.

What state you live in? How many hills or mountains you have?

    What brand fuel you're using?

What is the temperature out side.

    Traffic conditions.

Tires and lift if any and tonneau or not.

Like many other things, wheels, tires' size and type will affect mpg. Truck has new wheels.
We are discussing the effect of the air dam though.
