(I searched for this and didn't find anything. I hope I'm not reposting old news.)

There is thread over on fjcruiserforums.com about how TrailDamage.com is great, but so many of the trail guides are outdated. Someone posted this new site that looks promising and is asking for contributors.

    http://www.trailsoffroad.com/states/CO

Anyone have experience with the new site? Anyone signed up to contribute?

I am a contributor for the website. One of the first ones to join in! :D The guy who founded the website is based in Denver too. I actually came across it because he had a booth set up at last years Easter Jeep Safari. It's great because you don't have to pay into it at all. Only stuff that you'd normally use anyway on runs (cameras, GPS, gopros, etc). It's legit. I too was getting frustrated at the lack of updated information and thought about doing the same thing, so one I found this I was in for sure. Good thing about this too is it's a national site vs just Colorado or Utah.

It's still in beta phase as we are trying to build it up a bit more and find more contributors, so we haven't really been pushing it out there quite yet until it's a bit more complete.

    Stock for now.
Just signed up as well. We need something more updated than traildamage.com. They have some good info, but have missed some great trails all together. Plus I'm tired of jeep driven sites, the first thing they mention is how bumpy the trail is/isn't, UR 'off-road' in a jeep.... it's supposed to be bumpy!

Thanks! It's a national site as well! I think we have a guy from Ohio, you could even join and write up some Ohio trails!

I'm headed to the Springs in December for a family vacation and would like to do some mild wheeling while I am there. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately most things are snow covered in December. You could always head up Gold Camp Road to get some good views of the city.

Is this a truck trail or a foot trail?

It's a road. Not technically a trail but a dirt road with a bunch of various offshoots you can explore with a vehicle.

China Wall is my favorite winter trail. It will be snow covered but only making it slick in some spots. (U don't need a plow). Take hwy 24 west out of the springs to CR77 (also called Teryall rd). Go north. There are 2 entrances as the trail covers 2 forest service roads. It's also close to Turner Gulch, another good winter trail.
Let me know if you want me to run it with you. If you want to go as far west as hwy 9 , we can go through a lot of Pikes National on fsr's 108, 107, 270, 116. These are all minutes from where I live.

I haven't been in years, but it was one of mine too.

Any trail that's rated "mild" or "boring" becomes more interesting in winter.
