From my small 10 years of off-roading:
    1. Just keep the crappy headlights for legal reasons.
    2. Spend money on brand name auxiliary high quality lights for appropriate times of use (bars, rounds, spots, fogs, etc)

Just my opinion. Fwiw the aftermarket headlights on my truck aren't that great and the high beams are still halogen so oh well.

^Have had 2 sets of headlights that are" illegal" retrofits.
Never had a problem with law enforcement, even got a compliment on an old pair from a cop.
But i do agree about aux lighting

I like stock light output actually.
Most aftermarket lights suck, like aftermarket spyder halo's.
My spyders have a tinted lens and I couldnt see crap with halogens in them.
@SixthSnail It's all about the cool factor  lol

    Am I doing this right?
Anyone have experience with traction boards like Maxtrax or a less expensive brands? Trying to decide if I should drop the money on those or go with something like MAXSA for $150.

Have you seen the Kickstarter for the new treds? Look like they will work well and it's 161 dollars for a pair and mounting hardware. Just have to pay now, get them in February

I had some traction boards when I had my VW. Never used them. They got dusty and I sold them. I don't usually go wheeling alone though.
