Lots of options out there. The most important imo is Budget vs performance. Make sure you get the best bang for your buck that fits within ur parameters

Their good guys man, they created it to seperate customers from "builders" flooding their emails asking for free stuff.
It's in a customer service tab on their site

I can't figure out how ********* is selling a box for a 12" sub for this truck. The minimum volume for that driver is 1.25 ft^3. There is no way that box has that kind of volume. Did they give you any sort of assurances on how it would sound? Twelve inch subs in small volume boxes typically sound like shit. That's what pushed me into a pair of eights. I can't imagine they pushed this as an optimal setup for that driver, but then again I have had nothing but bad experiences with *********, so I was just wondering?

It's just for people who want a little bump but dont wanna spend a whole lot of money.
I "had" that box and it was just to get me by until I got the SQ1 "which is 100000x better"
It sounded good, but of course the big box with a lot of air space will sound better

Meh, "good guys" at least reply to emails from someone looking to purchase equipment. Plenty of
audio re-sellers out there, if you can't at least reply I just move on and find one that will.

Can you go too big on the box back there?

If you have 1000 emails daily from "builders" it's easy to miss it on accident. We're all human and make mistakes

You can go too big but if that were the case the box wouldn't even allow the seat to go back in place "which isn't the case"

This particular driver you are correct. I had this sub as an extra so it's temporary. This box is .5 cubic ft. The sub I'll be replacing it with is a Kicker CompRT shallow which only requires .55 cubic ft in a sealed enclosure. We're not looking to blow the doors off, just to supplement the poor bass in the stock system while keeping a portion of the rear seats available for storage. Honestly I'm only in $175 with this set up since I had the amp, LOC and sub from our trade in. Another $130 for the CompRT and for around $300 I have a decent sounding sub without much work.

********* actually replied to my emails within a couple hours and shipped within 2 days. Believe me, I was very surprised as their CS is hit and miss. I have a buddy that had nothing but horrible experiences with them a few years back.

********* was great when I was buying something, but after they had my funds they went completely silent. They don't seem to know the difference between 1.9" and 2.2" when it comes to their adapters. Took me three weeks and a PayPal dispute to get that all worked out. Never did get the right adapters or even a "hey sorry we messed up" Nothing. Terrible outfit, can't stay far far away with enough conviction for these guys.

As far as the sub goes about 0.5 ft^3 was about what I was figuring you would be able to get with that arrangement and that's pushing it out to where the seat backs had to be removed, so it begs the question why the 12". Box volume is not a "blow the doors off" parameter. Power does that. Box volume is about frequency response and at 0.5 ft^3 you wont have any. Why not run a decent 8" or even a low volume 10". I mean if you're just looking to supplement the poor bass in the stock system, a good 8" in the right size box is going to sound way better than any 12" jammed in a half a cubic foot. Minimum on the ComRT is 0.55 cubic ft, but optimal is about 1.5 ft^3. Your 0.5 is really only like 0.35 when you take away the driver volume.

Yup, i agree with your gary. The biggest issue with super small enclosures is their freq response. They would be punchy and peaky as hell with very little lower end extension and really a poor setup over all.

Id just like to illustrate a value/ performance example
The shok triton 8 or 10 can be had a 30% off right now @ @105 for the 8 and @112 for the 10. These subs will literally match and even beat the performance of many subs in the 2-3 times their price range. They are SQL drivers and i have personally put more than 2x rated power to them without any issues. Both fit behind the seats and with some work you can get 2 12s sealed @ rated airspace like @ZMan2k2 did.

You don't have to spend much to get really nice bass, proper box and setup

You guys are probably right, but it's already bought and paid for so hindsight is a bitch. Plus in the past 2 months I've dropped $800 on tires, $300 on 5100s, $120 on tint, $100 on a bed mat and $800 on SCS wheels this week (thanks Vin!). Once I get that money tree worked out I'll build myself a nice custom system, but it's on the low priority list right now. I'll make do with what I have for the time being.

I actually just took a look at Garys setup and his box build. In the next year I'd like to have something built very similar. Since I'm not wood worker nor have the tools or skills to build something similar, I'd imagine this box and install in the range of $1k. Not including subs and amp. I know the enclosure and sub I have now are subpar, but will get me through the next few months and wanted to show there are prefabbed boxes out there available that will fit. By no means and I'm trying to argue that I have optimal space for size sub I have, but as I said, will make do for now.
