Yea there great. One is stove, pots and pans, other is the rest of kitchen supplies. I hate the thought of leaving camp with a pile of garbage and cooking is a big part of my camping so I have a set of plates, bowls, cups, etc. Recently found a great wash tub and dry rack that works great!

Mixing boiling water with regular water when it's cold works great.

Here's my on board water. I didn't want to use the Helton heat exchanger- too bulky. Used a plate exchanger and tapped in between engine and heater core. 7 gallon bass pro water jug and cheap rv water pump gives me 10 min of PERFECT 102 ish degree water continuous. Less when you use on and off. Took it hunting and it was 30 degrees out and rather than the water jug I just dropped the intake hose into the melted ice water of the camp cooler and it didn't change output temp. No adjustments needed just fire up the truck and turn the pump on. Easier than youd think to do. I want to redo mine. In hindsight I can cut out more components for the same performance

My hat is off to you Spencer. It was fun watching you build yours. I never finished my heat exchanger project. All I had left to do was mount the pump, switch, and splice into the heater core output.

I did end up buying a Zodi extreme and I'm quite happy with that solution as well.

AHH! THAT STRAINER! Damnit of all the parts I spent forever searching for this one eluded me. as badass as my setup is, it failed me once when I was camping in the snow-
20 degrees out and I'm ass nekkid taking a hot shower thinking how great I am for making this thing work when all of a sudden the hot water cuts off and now I'm being showered with ice water from the cooler and did I mention it was 20 degrees?
After I quit cussing and warmed up by the fire I took components apart and found they had been clogged up with bits of water bottle wrappers in the cooler. agh. 5 dollar part would have saved me.

that's great man i'm glad it worked for you. That one's instant heat instead of recirculating a tub right?
and my little zodi unit is still for sale if anyone wants it...

I gifted one to my TWSS recipient as I know he goes camping allot and I really wanted to hear his opinion of it after a few uses. My thought was to make something similar to a LPG bottle holder for it to hang on a rear bumper.

That's a great gift, and a good idea. I've seen it done before, on Mr. Grimms Mall crawler.
