Uhoh, what did you buy? Or did you get lit up by the AR snobs? I don't like asking questions there, the people there are very knowledgeable but not always the most helpful.

Lol. I should go in and troll them with questions about barrel shrouds (those shoulder things that go up)

Go in and ask about barrel length and twist rate, haha.

I'll insist that I've found a 150gr bullet and I want to know what twist rate will work best, lol.

    Edit-
    Goddamnit I can't type today.

Nah, they'll just ignore that. They are a very knowledgeable crowd, it just seems they all forgot what it was like to be new to the AR platform and not everyone is tactical as fuck and shoots 1,000+ rounds a week. When I was building mine, I spent a LOT of time reading through the posts there, at the end of it all I realized that the stuff they were hung up on and bickering over would never be noticeable to me. For example, they could argue for days the benefits and drawbacks of a carbine vs mid length gas system, same with 1:7 vs. 1:8 twist rate.

I didn't buy anything . Just came across the site and was drooling over all the pictures. I'd like to build a lightweight AR . The old ladie went to the range with me a couple weeks ago and loved shooting my AR but thought it was to heavy lol .

A buddy of mine built a paraframe AR, it's supposedly stupid light. It has an ultra light weight barrel and BCG also. I don't remember the total weight but it's very, very light compared to a standard build. All those light weight parts were stupid expensive compared to their standard weight counterparts though.

    Oi.
What the hell happened to Mosin prices?
I was browsing through the local gun rag and the cheapest ones are $300 :der:

Edit- And that's for the basic full-length unit, at that. Crazy.

Ouch. Hopefully the ammo stays cheap. I have about that into mine at this point but it's hardly a Mosin anymore.

Just go full carbon fiber. That'll save you a bundle!

Hopefully. Fortunately I bought a couple (4) of those 440 round spam cans after I bought mine last winter because Sportsman's Guide was running a sale on them. So I'm set for Mosin ammo for a while. :bananadance:

Nice, I only have about 1.5 sitting around. I haven't been shooting in a while though, time's been limited with 2 little ones. I wouldn't mind picking up a couple extra spam cans to have on hand though.

What can you find them for up there? They're $130 - 140 down here.

I wish we could get ammo shipped... I get soo irate when I see online stores with ridiculously low prices and in the subtext *not valid to MA residences.

Are Mass residents allowed to purchase ammo via private sale when they're out of state, and then bring it back?

As far as I can tell, yes. I know lots of people go to NH and buy their ammo up there. I just buy my stuff locally when it goes on sale.
