Hey guys, I have a 2015 Tacoma trd pro with 10000 miles on it. at 5k miles my truck started making a vibration that can be felt in the gas pedal that feels like you are driving over a grooved centerline in the road. It only does this between 30-50mph but it does it like clockwork EVERY TIME I get to those speeds. anything before 30 is a smooth ride, and everything after 50 is as well. I figured it was abnormal tire wear so I had the tires balanced and rotated at 7k miles. The problem didn't go away. I found a thread about a tundra with the exact same problem and he needed a new transmission. I started getting worried. Just to be sure I wasn't crazy I had my wife drive it and as soon as it got to those speeds she instantly felt the same vibration. Now I figured if my little wife who cant even change a tire can feel that something is clearly not right the Toyota techs would be able to, right? NOPE!!!! I took it to the dealer and (after they had it for 3 and half hours) they claimed 2 techs drove it and didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. It blows my mind because the vibration is so insanely obvious! What the hell do I do? I feel like they are flat out lying to me. Are they just stonewalling hoping that my tranny will break after the warrantee period? How do I force their hand to do some actual diagnostics? I'm pretty pissed right now. Will taking it to another dealer help? This one is reputable. Has anyone else experienced this vibration?

Ride with the techs. Find a stretch of road it does it at and have the tech ride with you. He repeat with the tech driving and you in the pasenger seat.

If then go test drive another 2ng gen, preferably a 15 and see if it does it. If it does not have them explain to you why there is a difference.

Thanks guys. I feel like a total jackass. When I got to the dealer they told me they rotated and balanced my tires again for me to help even though they didn't experience the problem. Feeling frustrated I kinda snapped at them and reminded them that I told them I had just had that done at discount tire and it didn't help. They were very nice and said to give it a drive and if I felt it again to bring it back. Sure enough it fixed the problem... Stupid discount tire must have either not balanced them at all like I asked or they balanced them wrong. Their laziness cost me half a day at discount, half a day at the dealer, and months of frustration thinking my transmission was going out. Lol. Then I looked like an idiot for getting mad at the dealer.

The only thing I don't get though is why it would only do it at those speeds? I guess that's a discussion to have another day. I'm Done thinking about this problem :)

Mine vibrates from 10 to 25. All the dealer did was rotate my tires. I was furious. It's still vibrating like crazy and I'm annoyed

My last truck had this drone and I drove it like that for probably 35k miles. Didnt cause any issue. However, then replaced the needle bearing and BOOM. gone. I did a ton of reading on it. I would seriously have them replace that. Bet $20 it fixes it.

If I ask them to check the needle bearing will they be able to look at it and clearly see something wrong or will they have to switch it out to see if it helps?

You guys were absolutely right!!! Drove till it was vibrating, put it in 4h, the vibration went away completely and instantly, switched back to 2wd and it started vibrating again immediately. I did it like 4 times just to make sure. What tsb should I look up to show the dealer or what one do I tell them to look up?

I dropped off my 2015 Tacoma 4x4 with 9,606 miles on it at Toyota this morning. I've been experiencing a very faint rumble strip type vibration from the foot rest on my driver side floor board for months now but only at 35-45mph. Didn't notice it when switching into 4H. (Truck purchased Feb 2015). I did have an OME Suspension System installed but pretty sure the vibe came first.

Anyhow, my Toyota dealer isolated the "grinding noise" as coming from the front diff. I was advised that Toyota does have a TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) for this issue and they are ordering parts under that TSB.

    TSB #0026-15 (Tacoma/FJ/4Runner)
Dealer tells me this TSB uses modified/altered parts and not the original to solve the problem. Said the fluid sample they took looks clean. They don't see any metal, etc.

While it was in the shop I had them go ahead and do my 10k Toyota Care service since I'm so close. They put in my Mobile 1 Full Synth and a Fumoto Drain Valve for me. Should have my truck back today and will take it back in once parts arrive.
