    Hey Tacoma World, What's up?

I'm interested in the new 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport. Figured I would join the forum to see what kind of information is out there and lean a little bit about these trucks. I currently drive a 2013 Civic SI, I love this car, but my wife has been on me for about the last year about how its time to grow up and get a truck, I do live in Texas after all lol.

Anyway, I think I'm a good 4-6 months out from actually going and talking to a dealer, taking test drives, and talking deals. I'm just more-so interested in whatever information I can gather from yall.

My last 2 cars have been sticks, and honestly since I've been driving a stick everyday for the last 4 years I don't know what my right hand and left foot would do in an automatic. Does anyone own a 2016 6 speed? How is the gearbox? I know it wont be like butter like the SI is but is it still pretty slick? I've never driven a stick truck before only auto's so again, how is it in a truck? I would imagine there would be a little more pressure on the clutch pedal.

That's what has me really interested in the Tacoma, I saw the TRD Sport comes 4 door, V6, 4x4 with a stick and I got excited. So any insight from the pros?

    thanks in advance.

Alright, well I know I said that I was 4-6 months out, but my wife woke me up Friday morning and said she wanted to go take the new Tacoma for a test drive. So Black Friday after we decorated for Christmas, hung the lights, took our 3 month old to visit some family, we did our shopping at a dealership. We test drive a Gray SR5 TSS Edition. It rode really nice, but we couldn't come to a good deal on it, I really liked it, Gray with Black 17's and BF Goodrich all terrains, black tube steps, she was pretty.

After haggling back and forth about pricing, and feeling a little discouraged about the under-value of my 2013 Civic SI we were about to walk out. As we were about to say "well thanks anyway" the sales woman got a notification that a White TRD Sport had just been put into inventory, it had just finished the pre-delivery checklist, still had the plastic.

So again we haggled and went back and forth, and settled on what I feel was a pretty good deal. Its an Automatic instead of a manual, but oh well. I love it so far. Its a 4 door white TRD Pro 2 wheel drive. I also originally posted I was shopping for a 4x4 but I got to thinking, I haven't had a truck in 4 years and haven't need 4 wheel drive and my 97 chevy I had 4 years ago wasn't 4x4 either so I figured why spend the extra money.

So here's some pics. I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum and learning more about the different things available for these Tacoma's.

haha, yeah it was pretty quick. Thanks man.

OTD was at $33,000 with GAP. Which I felt was still a good deal because the window sticker that was on it was for $32,500. After fighting for more trade value I ended up with about $150 in negative equity, I felt it should of been closer to $1,000 positive but oh well.

I'm digging your signature quote btw, I love those Friday movies. I'm curious how the new one is going to be.
