    Any of you guys pressed your own wheel bearings? Going to try it tomorrow, seems straight forward except the ABS sensor part. Worried I won't get it back in the right spot so my inner seal seals correctly. Also found it strange that there is no sensor for the ABS on the rear but it has the 'gear' if you will on the shaft.

    Can't help you with feedback on doing your axle bearing and seals, I always had a shop do the work. But yeah, that rotor for the ABS was on mine too and I don't have ABS either.

    Are you regeared? How many miles on your truck?

    No, just bought a 99 with 276,000 miles and going through it fixing all the things that the previous owner neglected. Pulled the axles to just do the seals but noticed there was some play in the bearings, not a lot but I'm assuming there should be zero. Runs great though, gives me hope for mine with only 148,000 miles.

    Ha, I see. Good to hear that the '99 is in good shape.

    FWIW, I lost the driver side axle bearing (twice) at ~150K. These is some speculation that this is common to regeared trucks. :notsure:
