It ran fine when i took it to my mechanic but the next morning the truck threw a cel and went into limp mode. Babied it to the dealership and the new spark plug I put in cylinder #4 was defective from the factory and had a slight crack in it. Since i bought the plugs from them they gave me a new one for free and it runs fine. So no bad injector or bent valves. Just needed a new coil.

A poor connection will cause that they can get very hot and cook the plug. The coils draw enough current to cause an over heat of a poor connection.

I don't know what's going on other than the fact you replaced your spark plug but if I was in your shoes I would do this about my plug:

De-pin the connectors from your old plug and examine them, if they look fine, perfect. Go to a local junkyard, de-pin the plug from the junked Taco, then go home and install the new plug on the old connectors. If that is not a viable option and your connector pins are shot to hell, I would cut the new plug with a decent amount of length on the old wires then solder it all up.

Either way, glad to hear nothing hardware wise is wrong.

I'd just fix it no matter that it was a problem with the sparkplug.

What i'm saying is that there is no need to drop over $1400 on a whole new wiring harness assembly from the dealer just because a connector melted. It happens all the time with other vehicles. Easily repairable.

    Especially if it's a $9 fix
