It's a rust preventative, my frame only had very minimal rust and I decided to use it because living in areas where they salt the roads looks like it can really take a toll on these frames if you don't do anything about it

Your 2016 may be different, but here in the 2nd Gen community it's not a bad idea to protect your frame if you live in a corrosive environment.

Allegedly the frame troubles stopped in 2010+ but only time will tell if that's accurate. Therefore, most people choose to do some sort of rust protection anyway.

There are people that live in a corrosive environment, didn't do anything to protect the frame yet it still looks like new. I consider those people lucky and didn't want to roll the dice. It took me very little money and three hours on a Saturday afternoon to Fluid Film my truck myself. Next year it will take far less time. For me, it's worth it for the peace of mind even if my 2015 frame wasn't going to rust without it.

Thank you tb3625 and buzzkill911 for your responses.
I agree, for what it costs, the time it takes to apply and the piece of mind, it's worth doing it.

Wow...living out west where it's dry and dusty has it's advantages...

Yes. Yes it does. I'll take dust over rust any day.

We do have corridors where salt is used. I-80 from Auburn east. I'm sure there are others. Those guys that live up there probably do know all about Fluid Film.
