Well it was time for some new tires ,my last ones were general grabber at 2 10 ply which were good traction low noise but they threw rock like crazy punched holes through the factory flaps .So i purchased wild country xtx sport 10 ply this time they look good we will see how they take the gravel roads the generals lasted only 36000 kilometres the gravel here destroys tires the generals were just under $1200 and the wild countries $930. Thats a new set every year on the upside i get new tires before every winter

ha ha you can't get a quality tire for much less up here in canada i was quoted $310 a piece for 265 70 17 10 ply hankook dyna pro atm!! the only reason for the 10 ply is the gravel here will work its way through any thing less and you will constantly have flats. It dosent mater what ever tire it is they are ground off in 30 to 40 000 kms any way.

Let us know how it works out with the Wild Country's.

I know gravel roads are rough having traveled through Costa Rica in the mid 60's when there was less than 25 miles of paved road in the whole country. We had several flats between borders driving a heavily loaded one-ton Dodge truck. Those roads just ate up tires.
Thanks to the Army expert who advised us we lined the underside of the gas tank with heavy rubber, installed heavy custom made mud flaps and a big tranny cooler before the trip.
