Truck looks good with a little mud on it. Free weekends come back in January. Going to venture over there one day.

Hey guys...wanted to introduce myself. I ran across @WheelInTheSky in another post. He was trying to sale Yellow Top Batteries for $145...only problem I found out..he didn't have any batteries to sale!! I quickly realized that this is the kind of guy I want to hang out with...so he invited me over here to meet yall.

The rig I'm running a 2000 4Runner (sorry no cool truck...I have a family). I have a ToyTech lift set around 2 1/2" lift with a 1" Body lift. Still have stock rims but have Im running Toyo's All Terrian style tire size 295x75x16r which is 33x12.5x16. Had some rubbing issues in the front tire weld. But the BL fixed that...now no more rubbing! I have a ShrockWorks front bumper, sliders, and skid plates from the radiator to the gas tank...plenty of armor. Not sure that else yall would want to know???

I live in Granville, which is about 20 east of Columbus on SR 161. When I have the time, I love to go 4Wheeling!! I've seen yalls pictures and excited to maybe join yall if that's cool with all of yall! Here's a picture of Sgt Yado from last winter. She's a little dirty...but she fun to run :)

That's cool. Those guys can be hit or miss (pun not intended). Some of the landowners on the sides of abandoned roads (that haven't reverted to private ownership) get pretty territorial and treat the road like it's theirs.

I have no interest in fucking up their day by roaring through the woods on a road that sees 1 vehicle a week, spooking deer and shit, so I find other stuff to do during hunting season.

@iwashmycar Could you share with me what post # you found them at? I'd love to hit a couple roads like that to help double check my suspension! Although, I too think I will wait until after hunting season. Im a hunter myself...but I've seen guys shoot a cow thinking it was a deer. Anyway...that will save me going through all 2667 post..lol!!

    Thank you Sir!!

Ok, lame question. I have 0 recovery gear, except my e tool shovel thing. I think at the very least I should add a tow strap. I don't feel like I need one of those slingshot style nor do I think it's necessary to drop big money on an ARB one which will probably never get used. So that said, what should I look for? How long / thick (he he! )? 30' / 4" good enough?

    Thanks Greg.

Hey @crazyaussie whats the status on Bryan's donations?

A few guys were asking about a TW - Ohio sticker. I'm working on a design. Basically it will be one color (white, probably, to show up on tinted glass), about 4x4", an outline of the state of Ohio and the letters "TW" inside that. The font will be a rip off of the "TX Pro" lettering seen below.

I also thought about totally ripping off the TX Pro decal and just doing "TW Ohio" in the same format (large / small letters, same "chunked" lettering, smaller overall though, maybe 3" tall at the tallest x about 8" long. I actually think I like that better. Edit, I sketched out roughly what I'm thinking. It would be 2 5/8" tall x 6 3/4" wide at the largest. See below. This was fast work and isn't nearly "good enough" but it's the general idea.

I think these can be had for probably $5 - 8 / ea shipped to you depending on quantity. I'll post some images in a few days.

I'm sure open to suggestions though, if you guys had other ideas. Feel free to draw something up and post it. My buddy is limited to cut out stickers though, he cannot print. He can do two colors by overlaying one cut out over another cut out though.

I wouldnt get a 9000# HF one. Easily snappable with that rating. Around here you probably arent using it to "get over that last rock" or something...your probably axle deep in mud. Look at the 3"x30' that are rated like 30,000#. Smittybilt makes one that is about the same price.

    Example: http://www.amazon.com/Smittybilt-CC330-30-Recovery-Strap/dp/B001CF4UXU

You could probably find it much cheaper on eBay, ect.

30k smittybilt strap. 2 d-rings, tree saver strap by ARB.

None of that will help if you are wheeling alone and get stuck. That's when you need a winch..

Alright, thanks for the info. I don't know that I do anything aggressive enough to get stuck in an off road situation but I figure a tow strap is handy for a lot of stuff "on road" where I could help other people out, and could be useful in that one "fuck me" situation when I do get stuck somewhere on a abandoned road that turns to shit. Usually there's someone around to pull you out in the boonies, but they may not have a strap. As an example, some guy in a Commander asked me to pull him out at Wills Creek, but neither of us had a strap, so that didn't happen.

Our K9 guy got stuck in one of the local renegade off road areas checking on a stolen vehicle that was dumped back there. He requested a wrecker with a really long cable, but before the wrecker even got dispatched, like within a minute, here comes some hilljack with a scanner and a tow strap in a lifted OJ Simpson era Bronco, hooks up, and rips the Explorer right out of the mud. Unhooks, drives off, I don't think he even spoke a word to the cop. I swear some people just live for that shit, especially in winter, ripping people out of ditches and shit.

A d-ring receiver hitch and a strap are on my Xmas list for these reasons.
