Hello, I am looking to buy a shell for my 2015 double cab short bed. I've narrowed it down to Leer and A.R.E. because the local dealerships here only sells these two (no Snugtop).

They are asking $1,299 for the V Series (ARE) and for the Leer XR. I would have to pay $75 more to add pet screens. I also want a front fold down window so I can clean the glass when I need to - don't know how much more.

I'll probably wind up paying $1,500 all together. Do you think I'm overpaying?

Leer also offer Cyber Monday discount: PICK ONE: $75 off, free headliner ($125.00 value), free frame sliding front window, free removable fixed or sliding front window.

That price seems in the ballpark from what others say they paid. The removable window definitely is worthwhile. I passed on the headliner but now wish I got it. My old ARE and Leer had a gel coat on the inside. Now they just have the unfinished painted fiberglass. Pretty rough stuff.

ARE and Leer always have coupons for free stuff.

Paid just under 2k for my color matched ARE V series with vented windoors, fold down front slider window, Yakima tracks and LED light strip. Installed. Very happy with it.
No headliner. I used an outdoor paint to smooth out the sides where my son was leaning his arms on. Worked very well.
Guess I could do the whole interior like that eventually.

I just paid a hair under $2100 for a leer 100xr with carpet headliner, removable front sliding window, roof rails, keyless entry, paint matched and installed. And that's after a $50 off black friday deal and free carpet headliner coupon ($119 value). The local ARE and snugtop dealers wanted even more for comparable configurations. The pnw doesn't seem like a good place to get a deal on canopies. It's $1479 for a base leer 100xr compared to the $1299 offer you got.

Same price in CA, atleast my section of it.

Base price is $1500. Options go from there.

Your price is a good deal compared to what we have seen.

Building mine online through the Leer in central California, it's running about the same.

Your price is better than my local dealer offered. I decided to look for a used shell and found a good deal on a color matched ARE. Took about 3 months but saved about $1,000.
