There is supposed to be a trail up Bald Mountain.....Up near Bucksport. I have never been but a guy from the FJNE had his FJ up it before he moved to Oregon last year.

    Bald Mountain Road....outside Dedham

I'll have to check on the maps! Dedham isn't too far from where I am, about an hour. It looks like there might be some trails through the power lines in rockland. Might go check them out

Someday it might be fun to run some of the old fire roads off RT9 (Airline). A bunch of us did that 20 years ago for a day and man did we ever see a pile of country. There was a world of fire roads and then off of them were some decent wheeling on logging roads. Nothing too advanced but just some fun. Wish I still had my old 90 Toyota PU today

If you do, make sure you wear your orange. Last day of deer season is tomorrow; people get twitchy when the season runs out and they haven't bagged one yet.

Just a heads up, Power lines are off limits in Maine. The line owners have no problem with prosecuting trespassers.

If you go far enough into the country they've probably got no problem prostituting them either.

Good to know about the power lines. Probably not going to get the time to really go out and explore sadly. Wish I had planned ahead and dedicated a day. Guess I'll just have to come back again!

That's been me. Either outside or at work. :notsure:
Plus I've been christmas shopping some in the evenings, even though I'm not in the christmas spirit because it's so October-y out. I feel like I should be carving jack-o-lanterns, not hanging lights.

I'd agree feels like late September. I made the mistake of discounting maine winters, so I'm expecting it to get cold and snowy soon.

But the past few days have been great for hiking.
