Why'd they only invite 3 guys this year?

 

Because 4 would be too many and 2 wouldn't be enough..j/k...i dunno, most years there are 5 or so. I figured we'd see a few more, like mayfield and uhhh (belch and fart) uhhh...no idea.

 

Tix are selling to peach bowl for under $20 on stubhub (sadly).

Apparently a lot better seats are available than the 150 upper bowl ones schools are asking for.

 

They invite however many guys there are until you see a steep decline in the votes. Given that only three were invited (and guys like Baker Mayfield were left out), I bet you see Derrick win in a landslide.

 

Jameis won with 80% of the vote 2 years ago. Still 6 guys went to NYC.

 

Yeah, he did. They can't just invite one guy, though. The votes that year were:

1. Winston - 2,205
2. McCarron - 704
3. Lynch - 558
4. Williams - 470
5. Manziel - 421
6. Mason - 404
7. Petty - 127

The big drop (aside from the first one, of course) was b/w Mason and petty, which is where they drew the line.

The year Cam Newton won, there were four finalists:

1. Newton - 2,263
2. Luck - 1079
3. James - 916
4. Moore - 635
5. Blackmon - 105

Last year there were only three finalists...

1. Mariota - 2,534
2. Gordon - 1,250
3. Cooper - 1,023
4. Boykin - 218

Seems kind of weird to me how the line moves, but guess that's how it goes. Thought guys like baker mayfield and Kenyan Reynolds deserved a spot there.

What is the best defense Henry has faced?

 

Henry will win it. He is Alabama this year. They lose him and they are done. The other teams still have a shot should one of them go down. Henry is tough as nails though.................

 

In like 09 they invited Tebow and he finished 5th with a huge drop off from 4th, although that probably had more to do with Tebow being Tebow and them just giving him respect or something.

 

I'll be pretty interested in the final votes.

Yeah, that's a good point. It's surely because he was a former winner. That was a close year. I think I remember it being the closest vote ever.

(not specifically directed towards mr snob or anyone in particular) but some say henry doesnt deserve it bc of his supporting cast, and to that i say "dak prescott is the best player on ms st's defense so by that logic he should win"

The website StiffArmTrophy.com correctly predicted the Heisman winner 12 years in a row. I really enjoyed following it during the 2009 season in particular. I really wish they were making predictions still. I'd trust their analysis.

Unfortunately, the Heisman Trust started threatening voters about revealing their votes, so voters stopped talking to the StiffArmTrophy people. They didn't make a prediction last year and won't this year (or ever again).

 

And comment on it. Just dumping random uncredited information in here with no rhyme or reason is very SPAMmy

 

The heisman became irrelevant when they gave it to bush over VY. The only good thing about it are the commercials.
