If you're only curious at to if the grill can be swapped, the answer to that is a definite no, they are not even close to the same dimensions.

Not Grill. but I am calling dibs on first rear chrome bumper with integrated tow plugs. I was tempted to order Tundra plugs and retrofit them, but since new Tacoma has the same frame new bumper should fit no problems.
That should keep those Tow plugs in one piece for a while.

How about the bed.....Is it the same box width & length? Say for instance....I could use my current bed mat in the 2016?
Wondering if the mounting bolts are the same also? I have holes already cut for extra d-rings.

I could buy new shit.....but...why? If you can save a few bucks!

I meant the tailgate mostly, the rear bumper tow plugs is a good idea. Anyone swap parts yet?

It should be possible to swap the engine and transmission. Just drop in a 4.0L from a 2nd gen and enjoy a nice boost in peak torque.

The Tacoma is Exactly the same Suspension wise. The 2016 Front Struts have Different valving and a internal Bumps. The Rear Axle, the Differential has a 8.75" Ring Gear now instead of the previous 8.2" or 8.4". The E-Locker is now an Internal E-Locker and from what we can tell its made by Eaton. No more External Motor. The Frame has been Enforced in key areas like the Front Body Mounts. The Back Tail Gate is now redesigned and most likely wont have bent Tail Gate Issues. The Rear Flexible Brake lines have been extended.

The Rear Bed internals are the same. They could be swapped to later models.

The Front Windshield is now Acoustic Glass For Quieter Road Noise. Also more Expensive but they could be installed on to the Second Gen.

The Side mirrors have been Redesigned and they could be swapped to the 2 Gen as well.

The Body itself has been widened by 2 inches. 1 inch on each side.

That's what I want, the internal locker, where they reinforced the frame, the reinforced tailgate, how much more expensive is the windshield out of curiosity?

I heard the new LCA's are better too.
