When I bought my Tacoma, I was pissed about spending 30k on a 4x4 truck that came with crappy Dunlop highway tires (popped 2 the first time my truck went 4x4ing on mellow off-road rocky terrain), and I was doing research looking for reviews on my crappy stock tires...and the one that got me said "if you want to die, buy these tires", needless to say they got shitty reviews.

I know this doesn't have to do with the "age" of your tires, but something else to take into consideration when thinking about what tires you are driving around on.

oh i know all about those crap dunlops, then came on mine to, and actually i popped one on a logging road, those things really suck, but yeah when buying new tires everyone should do a little research on them first, i mean it's not that hard. it's just sad that most people go to some place liek walmart and just say i need tires, and then so retard just puts on some crap tire thats not worth what you pay for it.

Good post to be safe. I have TreadWright tires (retreads) with BFG A/T cores dated from '07. I'm sure its different since its inspected and retread. The video said that the recommendation of expiration is for new, unused tires.

I like them, had some problems balancing but it was because they need to be balanced on a certain setting. (Static, not dynamic). Broke them in about 4k miles and rotated last week, its riding great. Was skeptical after I bought them since half price and the balancing issue, but I'm glad I got them now.
