Yes the tires are hitting a lot. I have metal techs first edition of these icons they have since supposedly revised them with a longer resi line and flipped the fitting 180* I'm ordering the parts from icon soon if that doesn't fix it will move them more inward and weld a bracket to the frame for them .

You can see in the one picture above how much stress is on the resi line

 

Yeah same here mine stretched so much that it pulled the fitting enough to allow fluid to seep out so I'll be rebuilding these with some help soon . And these are the 2.5s maybe the new ones have a much longer line , hopefully so .

Yeah I got some rash missed the sliders barely got my quarter panel .good idea with the towel

 

Got some parts waiting for install . King 700lb springs , mt lower links , cbi ditch light brackets , lifetime 20" light bar for bumper, some pods for the ditch light brackets , annnnnd my caliper seized up still not sure what to replace it with . Replaced less than 10k miles ago both fronts because the oem one stuck open so replaced both when I read it was a common problem . Used advance Auto (duralast I believe ) calipers and now 10k miles later ones locked up . So now to find some type of replacement hoping to avoid oem because of costs and poor performance for the cost .

 

Oh nice good info , I also was thinking of getting the bigger caliper and rotors . I assumed all the limited and sports got the larger rotors. However it appears mine does not. Which sucks if I don because I have brand new ebc stage five rotors to put on and yellow stuff pads for mine . Soo long story bought the new rotors and pads went to install and found out my replacement calipers must not be direc fit because they would not accept the ebc pads with the new rotors , they wouldn't open up enough . Which is another reason I don't want to buy auto store calipers . Outing mind spending 5-600 or so on a solid aftermarket option but doesn't seem to exist .

And the lowers are super beefy compared to stock , my only concern is getting them adjusted correctly . We will see .

 

Yeah I'll look into it thanks , and yeah I don't think it will be a huge set back but I'll probably manage to over think it and take twice as long as it should .

 

I suggest making the links 1/2" longer than stock to start with, then pull the springs and cycle the rear to see how the tire stuffs, adjust from there. An alignment printout will tell you if you have them equal in length, and nothing else is bent.

 

Fresh susp rebuild front and rear thanks to Christopher Keene . Rebuild and revise on the tears and rebuild and new springs for fronts as well as modify the coilovers . Mine were not ext travel so now they are . Metal tech arms should be going on tomorrow . Got some tc cool bucket gussets the other day , oem pads rotors and calipers all fifth gen parts in hopes of avoiding more locking up .

 

Ended up getting fifth gen stuff going to see how it goes.

 

Had a little mod day at my house didn't get a lot done . Tons of delays but got the links on and shock skids and link skids . My link mounts were badly bent so getting the skid over them and the links inside them was a chore . Have the links set at stock length as per a thread I read on Toyota 120 . Thinking of emailing metal tech and seeing what they say .

 

New resi Hose for my rear shocks is almost twice as long hopefully these make it .

 

Sweet, you should like the MT setup. Mine mounts were so bad they needed to be chopped off, wish I had done those skids to prevent this headache.
