Like under the recall or buy a new one? I don't think Toyota would have gave us a new frame since it had a salvage title. I think I new one was like 4k looking off of one of the OEM parts websites. But steel, a welder, plasma cutter, paint, and time did the trick

Oh ya! Forgot to add that, cut apart the mount and raised it up. Looks 20 times better.

So after driving it about 130 miles today I found out the antenna sucks and the ac fan only works on high. And when you have it in sometimes there is a squealing noise coming from the passenger far vent. And the headlights need to come up. And none of the 12v outlets work.

Here is some pic of it outside.

Cover king ballistic tactical seat covers

Change motor oil, atf fluid, and rear diff oil. Still need to grease shackles and drive shaft, put on rear flares, adjust bpv, replace oil in front diff, and add rear bumpstops.

Bumpers turned out great man! That rim color really matches the truck I think.

Does anyone think it would be worth it getting a oil catch can after seeing all the oil in the throttle body and intake runners?

Been busy with school but was able to fix the hvac fan. The resistor was junk. Also had a blown fuse for the 12v outlets. Got the rear fender on and did the deck plate mod.

Here is a pic of the resistor

Awesome work! You are so lucky to have a dad to teach you all of that stuff. You'll be able to pass it on to your own kids some day!

    Flexed it out today

The tire did rub on the shock body. I have 1 3/4 in of travel left in the shock and 7 inch from the bottom of frame rail to flip plate. So my 4.5 inch bumpstops arnt going to work, unless I make them longer. Or get some shorter shocks. But then again the dakars are pretty negative right there, so not much more uptravel should really be used. But I heard dakars are suppose to go negative some, there designed to.

Since I've had some questions on how I did my grill I made a small write up. Wish I would have took more pictures.

Here is how I made it...

I used stainless mesh that came off semi truck stacks...

I got the center part of the gril out, then cut out pieces of plastic from it, and jb welded then in there to fill the holes. Sanded it all smooth.

Then I sit the mesh behind it and jb welded it to the grill. The bedliner helped hide the un eveness of the jb weld.

Here is it with the bedliner

Did scuff up the chrome some for the bedliner and the stainless, sprayed the plastic with bulldog adhesion promoter per monstaline instructions

I will be getting some trd off-road bedside decals at some point but I'm not sure about the color. What do you guys think about all white? What about all red?

I was also thinking about putting "TACOMA" on my grill but note sure about that color either, think red or white...
