Truxedo Lo Pro INSTALL $391 Shipped AutoAnything

AutoAnything had this for $391 Shipped in case anyone is interested in a roll up.
Will keep relevant posts here including pics and install comments.
OK So the install was not as easy as the Truxport but it is a better system.

THe rails attach to the truck rails. Have to make sure you use the correct size washers....Derp....

Received In Channel Vents and Lo Pro Tonneau this morning.





Tools Needed 11mm 13mm Ratchets Screwdriver Phillips screwdriver The ability to read instructions that include a few types of Tonneaus......Fail Truxedo on that...









Put the clamps together and slide them into the trucks rail channels Making sure to use the larger washers.....Derp




Attach rails to channel brackets using Acorn nuts and smaller washers,



This is NOT the way the washers go...derp again




Leave everything loose and attach the front rail. It clips under the side rails and has a cool adjustment.




Everything has to be loose to get both sides sliders to lock under the side rails. Adjust the tension.




Use soft nylon trim removal tool to make sure the seals are correctly splayed out

PROFIT




Make sure all the seal lips are outside the rails and not tucked under.

This flair seems to be the problem area. Interested in how Truxedo cover handles this. I am assuming the seal will have to transition from insde the bed to on top of the bed. Some of the Access cover installs at this point seem to be problematic. Thanks for keeping us informed. I am also getting a super white. Nice truck.

My last truxedo Velcro was overlapping the Plastic rail covers not inside the bed. I am betting that area will be where the latch is.

I just installed my roll up cover, its an Access Tonnosport for $228, yes this price was on Syber Monday but you can get it for around $319 with the discount now.

 

Looks nice and taught. I can't tell from the photos, but it looks like there aren't any gaps to let water in.
A couple of questions for you.
What do you think of it? Likes / dislikes. How long did it take to install? Was there any difference between the Access Tonnosport install and TacoBella's install? Did you get it from the Access company?

The install like any roll up is very easy, 1 size wrench ( 1/2 inch ) will do the whole job and in very short time, ( half hour to 1 hour ) if you do it alone. As far as gaps, when you look at the pic where the top is closed, you will see the end of the aluminum and tailgate meet, there is a gap there. I don't know how much water it will let in if any, being at the end I would think it would just run off or fall through between the gate and the box. There are always ways you can tweak it by getting some weather stripping ( sticky on 1 side ) and placing it where you need it. I just lucked out by buying it on cyber Monday so it was quite inexpensive for me.

 

i installed mine about a week ago. Love it! havent adjusted the tension yet.

Yes it is. When i went searching for it online tonneau covers world was the only one that had it.

I would like to see how easy it is to remove the low pro cover. I need to take it off at times and want one that basically a few clamps and no tools. From what I understand this is the only one but haven't been able to see one from inside the bed looking at the corner how it mounts.

 

it is removed by lifting a single tab at the rear, rolling up the cover, and at the back their is two tabs that your pull towards the center of the cover. Then you can lift up and take off the cover. The side rails stay on of coarse but you can still use your rail as a tie down point.

 

there is no tools involved in taking off the cover.
