Took my first trip to Charlie's Creek this weekend. Had a great time. If anybody wants to do some wheeling on the weekends let me know.

It is a great trail, simple and easy with a couple technical sections. I did it with no mods to my truck, and some all terrain tires. Only got stuck once cause it was muddy out. Great trail over all.

Enjoy it while you can... Pretty sure the DOT and FS are going to be fixing/improving that road soon. It's dumping too much silt into Charlie's Creek and the Tallulah River.

That's the rumor I've heard as well. No complaints, fun road but the amount of traffic it sees is far too high to leave in the current shape it is. Turns into a complete mess.

Been up this road many, many times over the years and never knew it was called Charlie's Creek. In fact, my profile pic was shot in the Tallulah. The farthest I've been up is maybe a 1/2 mile past the huge rock with the all the names painted on it. For those who've been farther, where does the road lead to as far as a main road? Are there any good spots to camp there? In dry periods, is the road drivable without much trouble?

    thanks, Eddie

Yeah they just regraded it, used to be a bit rougher past the rock - in fact I didn't make it through last time as I don't have lockers, high centered on some ruts. Took my dual sport through a week ago and found its all been smoothed out so you could get through with a Honda civic now.

It eventually dumps out on US 76 towards Hiawassee.

If you want a challenge, Flatland Creek Rd is a damn challenge. We took the bikes through it the other day and it was something of a chore on my CRF250. I'd love to see someone get a Tacoma up it, you'd probably want atleast a rear locker and some MTs.

May have a tough time then. The hill climb (depending on how wet it is) shouldn't be bad. The ruts is where the locker came in handy lots of 2 and 3 wheeling. I'd bring a friend with ya to be safe. That's even if it is still open

Does anyone know if this is still worth a trip? And the exact location? Would love to give it a go.

Any alternatives would also be greatly appreciated!

The gps coordinates are literally 3 posts above your post. As to whether it’s worth it, that’s your call. It’s basically a gravel road with a couple water crossings. There used to be some pretty rutted sections, but I believe it got re-graded a while back.

We rode Charlie's and Flat land last summer. Both were challenging and fun for a stock offroad. Flatland was much tougher.

Which one are your saying got graded?

Charlie’s has been graded for a few years. Flatlands is super fun but of course being stock makes it
    More challenging
