    Hi all,

New (relatively) Toyota Tacoma owner. 2013 Prerunner V6, Access Cab, only 20k miles. Mint condition! I've read over the Tacoma Towing Bible (briefly), and I'm still trying to figure out if my truck has any towing package products on it whatsoever, sorry, not too mechanically inclined.

I would like to be able to tow a travel trailer with an empty weight of about 3,750 lbs, one of the forest river type, gear will be kept to a minimum, but likely around 1,000-1,500 lbs? (including water in the tanks, etc). I've linked to a few pictures of the truck, hopefully someone can spot something good :) I've already ordered a brake controller. I'm understanding to add a transmission cooler, rear leaf spring support, mirror extenders, and a few other odds and ends.

Also are there any posts on this site on NMO mount installs? Wanting to install a 2m/70cm antenna on roof. Recommendations also welcome.

Thank you in advance, great site!

    Shannon from Texas ;)

Welcome Shannon from TX to TW

The rear hitch does not look factory.
    The factory pkg includes:

Class-IV towing receiver hitch, transmission and supplemental oil

coolers (transmission cooler not available on manual transmission

    models), 130-amp alternator, heavy-duty battery, 7-pin connector

with converter and Trailer-Sway Control (TSC)26 (V6 only).

I read you are willing to add some things like the brake controller & coolers.
That is great! And you are reading the towing bible, that has a wealth of info.

If you post a new thread in the 2GEN forum you will get a lot more help!
Not many come to the new member section to answer question, though some do :)
Congrats on your truck and good luck with your adventures.
