I've been reading some threads on the spiral steering cables for the 2005 tacomas and just wanted to share that I found a replacement for mine on eBay for around $15.

Was this recall to address the horn not working? Mine just stopped working the other day and am starting to research what direction to go. I'd much rather have the dealer fix this.....

Just got the recall done on mine 2 weeks ago when I got the frame recall done (undercoating). The symptom is usually an airbag warning light, which means it wont pass safety inspection.

Being that mine is a 2011, I highly doubt they'll help me out :( I will argue though its a safety issue and will prevent me from passing inspection. Guess its time to goto the dealer and just see what they'll say.

Same thing happened to my 2011 a couple weeks ago. Horn stopped working but still works if I hit the alarm button on the keys.
