I got a Tacoma not too long ago and looking at doing the 400w anytime mod. I have seen a lot of threads on this. I assume that you have to have the ignition on in order to use this but has anyone wired it to where it can run with the truck off? is this even possible? hell.... maybe im way off and when it says "anytime" it really means this. like I said, I haven't done it yet. there are times when I might want to power something small but not have the truck on or running. I know that if I was going to run something large I should run the truck to charge the battery. what are people doing when going camping running the truck? sorry if this is way off.

I think an aux battery an inverter would suit your needs best.

The anytime fix is to make it 400 Watts work whether driving or parked. You can also fix it to work off the battery with the truck off, but I would not recommend it unless you had some way to re-charge the battery in case you ran it down past starting the truck which could happen very quickly.

Keep in mind that just 1, 120 volt 60 watt light bulb would pull 6 amps from your 12 volt battery. Here is a calculator to figure out your amp/Hour draw and size of battery needed for what you are suggesting. http://www.batterystuff.com/kb/tools/calculator-sizing-a-battery-to-a-load.html
