This is my second new member thread, not sure if this is bad form. Last time I didnt actually have a Taco yet, this time I do!

Last night after almost three months of searching for the right new vehicle I pulled the trigger on this fine lightly pre owned 2015 TRD Offroad, 11,500miles.

Sorry about the crappy pic, I took it on my crappy phone. I have a good camera, but havent had a chance to take pics.

This will probably remain my nice stock daily for a couple of years and I will retire my '99 Cherokee and start building that to be more badass. Parts are in my garage I just wanted to make sure i have something else to drive when it is taken apart.

Most of the mods I want to do right now are more about keeping it nice than going on trails. I see the suggested parts websites on the homepage, but does anyone have suggestions for really nice floor matts and seat covers? I was also thinking roof rack, factory or aftermarket? small light duty bumper for mall crawling, and a good bed extender so I can put my motorcycle back there. I would also really like to rid myself of these ugly mudd flaps. anyone have bad experiences doing this? Favorite website to shop for parts?

Also question about folding down the back seats in the double cab. I folded them down today, but it feels like i am really stuffing the head rests when i do it. There is a button, but it seems like one side is not made to release. they also block my vision out of the rear window when they are up.

Anyway, I know, not very exciting. I really am liking it so far though. Please suggest anything that comes to mind. Thanks!

    NJ by the way.

    People on here like

    Floor mats: Husky or Weathertech.

Seat Covers: Wet Okole (super expensivo though)

Not sure about roof rack, mall crawl bumper, or mud flaps

However, you could most likely just let the tailgate down instead of a bed extender to hold the bike. 'Tis what I do.

Welcome and congrats on the truck! I also have a '15 OR in the same color. You can check out my build page here to get some ideas. I took off my mudflaps and have had zero issues with rock dinging on the sides. When I go offroading, I of course get a nice spray of mud up the side but IMO that should be there anyway  I went with OEM rubber floor mats, haven't had any issues. No seat covers on mine but I hear Okole are really nice. All the head rests are designed to come out. Mine are a bit of bitch to pull out sometimes tho, then they sit nice in the preexisting holes when you fold the seats down. But for having the seats in the upright position, the head rests themselves should fold down with no problem.

Hm those are nice covers, but yea thats not cheap. Yea, my bike is a lil guy, I am just worried about breaking the gate, I have a short bed.

I will check out the build. Thanks.

About my fourth choice in color, but the deal was right and the color is growing on me. My wallet is pretty locked up, I am still in shock, most money I have ever spent to date.

I wouldn't worry about the tailgate being dented or anything. I did it with my 1st gen all the time and it's still straight. 2nd gens have to have a stronger tailgate...right?

Good choice. Well done. I've got one just like it but mine has the correct number of pedals. :)

    Welcome, brother!

I can predict your future posts over the next 6 months. Here goes:
Month 1: Hey everybody, love the truck but hate the rake. I'm gonna go with 5100's to level it out, unless you think I should go with a spacer. (note: there will be a big thread on spacers here).
Month 2: So, I went .85 on the 5100's and still have a rake---I'm gonna tear 'em back down and go 1.75. (note: there will be a big thread on preloading shocks here).
Month 3: Billy's are set at 1.75, but I'm seeing sag on the rear and cannot stand the 'bro lean.' (note: there will be a huge debate on AAL vs. blocks).
Month 4: So, I added the AAL to the rear instead of the block, but my buddy took me out to (insert your newly discovered favorite wheelin spot) and I'm thinking I need more clearance. (note: there will be a lengthy discussion on mid-travel vs. long-travel at this point).
Month 5: Hey guys, I sold the Billy's and the AAL to my neighbor's kid and picked up a pair of King's (or ICON's) and a Dakar (or All Pro) spring pack. I also popped for the billet ICON uca's, so I have my LR's up for sale. (note: huge debate will develop around LR uca's.).
Month 6: Hey everybody, my wife just turned up pregnant and I need a 4Runner. Hate to sell the Tacoma, but growing family gotta grow! (this is when the parts-buzzards will become your new friends!).

There ya go, I just saved ya 6 months of posting! Let us know how the 4Runner-build goes and don't be a stranger here on the Tacoma board!! :D:thumbsup:

How can you tell its auto? I am not shifting my way to work in suburban NYC traffic.

I am not going through that process again any time soon. Can you just suggest an after market crib and playpen that snap into the bed?

You would have said if it was manual. Only about 4% of Tacomas are manual, those of us that have them are proud of 'em! Nice truck though man, dig the color.

    Mud flap delete
I went in a small pot hole and scraped the mud flaps on the first day with my new 2015 TRD OR AC MANUAL
It made a horrible sound and others have reported damage to the fenders from stepping off a curb and they grind up the paint from the sand that gets between the flap and fender
The mud flaps came off the next morning
I'm 6 months in at just under 10k miles and love it.
Welcome to TW and enjoy your new Tacome
