GMC Sierra SLE 5.3L, the mid trim model while GM has their big year end incentives. You get a lot of truck for the money, the only issue being resale value but if you keep your vehicles for a while it may be worthwhile. I test drove one this past summer and they are nice trucks. Although I wish they would do away with that AFM nonsense, I would rather lose some fuel economy than possibly affecting the engines long term reliability. If I wanted fuel efficiency I wouldn't buy a truck. The Tundra is also a decent truck, it just needs a slight redesign to compete with all of the newer offerings from the big 3. At least it uses tried and true technology, nothing fancy but it just works. The way it should be imo. Personally not a big fan of the aluminum F150 ecoboost or Ram.

my 2007 suburban with the 5.3 consumed 1 quart of oil every 1k miles. cylinder deactivation. GM trucks are beautiful, but their busted resale and shit engine have turned me away forever. I now have 2 toyotas.

Thanks for the feedback. Test drove a ford 3.5 and the tundra. Believe it or not the tundra TRD off road is cheaper then the model f150. It also made me feel comfortable knowing it makes built like a tank. I think I'll go tundra. Also realized unless you baby that ecoboost it burns gas just like the tundra. I don't have a heavy foot but as soon at that sucker kicks in the mpgs basically match the 5.7 in the tundra. Also considered resale and looks like I'll stay Toyota.
