Somehow I just noticed that the unlocking of the door with the key fob in pocket stopped working, but it will still lock by pressing the top of the handle. It does this with both sets of fobs.

Key fobs both work by pressing the buttons to lock/unlock.

I'm pretty sure this worked when we picked the truck up the other day-- I'd like to blame the wife LOL but I have no idea what we did, going back to the dealer-- unless we are just having a blonde moment here.

Make sure your fingers are in the correct position on the handle. This is the first thing the dealer will ask you.

Is it in the same pocket as your cell phone?

Keys were the only thing in the pocket. We tried them one at a time (not both in range at the same time)-- even just holding right beside the lock. It will lock - but not unlock no matter how long we wait in-between locking and trying to unlock.

Glad this isn't a "smart key not working. Locked out. Having truck towed to dealer right now" thread.

That thread should never happen. There's a physical key inside of the smart key.

I've heard 911 calls of people "locked inside" their vehicle.

After 10 minutes of frantic panicking, the dispatcher finally convinced them to unlock the door and get out.

Oh, I was very careful with my language. You may notice I said "should never happen". Of course it will though, people are stupid.

The day before going to the dealer to have this issue looked at--- it mysteriolusly started working again. (6 days not working at all in total). Dealer ran it thru some tests- they said they saw one error code in the history but it wasn't showing the error code when testing occured. Said the error code showed something with navagation system, told me it could be related to the smart key system as well--- just to watch and notify them if it happens again. ugggh

There is a seperate history other than codes that stores when there are issues. It can help narrow down interference issues.

Does it not work all the time? If you press unlock on the cob does it start working again? If the key is stored to close to the vehicle the fob will stop pinging to the vehicle to prevent battery drain
