has anyone put the new BFG KO2's on a 2016 TRD sport? Is the ride still smooth and quiet?

Hey guys. First post. I'm excited. I currently have an 04 Tacoma and it has been an amazing truck. I'm having a white TRD sport double can being built for me now, and I can't wait!!!:bananadance:

My question is this. I was thinking of having the dealership throw on some KO2 165/70/17's for a meaner look and also better traction for the snow where I live (near Tahoe) do you think I could go a hair bigger or keep it stock size? Also, how much of the ride will change as far as noise and smoothness?

    Thanks guys

I'm in the same situation. I will be ordering ko2's. Waiting for my build date. Was hoping by the temp vin it would be this week. Looks like week of Dec 21st. Been waiting since august. I would order tires now, but I am still a bit unsure of when it will actually arrive.

You will see a bit more of a change in road noise most likely and a slightly stiffer ride. If I was in your shoes, I'd do it. They are great tires and I just put a set on my '16 4x4 Off Road. Go with Load C1 tires though if you do.

Nice. Thank you for the reply. What size are those tires? Looks great. I was hoping I can do a 265/75/17 or even a hair bigger?

Noice! This will be my set up. Magnetic gray metallic was one of my color choices. The wheels look real nice with that color and tire set up. Dealer is getting a Blazing blue. I'm taking it....hope the wheels look as good with the blue. I doubt it though. The gray with the machined wheels is sharp

I'm also running 265/70/17 A/T KO2 Load C's. The only downside of the tires is a hit to MPG. I'm seeing 1-2 MPG reduction over the stock Goodyears. I may try a few more PSI in them to see if I can improve that number a bit.

I did with 265/70/17 in C on my 2 Gen, but not too bad of a hit, roughly 1.4 MPG. They are great so far.

I can verify, I do see a decline in MPG. Exact figure is not known, but I can see it in the graph in the instrument cluster when on the highway. It's lower than it was with the Goodyear tires and my average trips seem close to 2MPG down. I'm going to try a bit more air in the tires to see if it helps.

275/70/17 is ok on stock ride.
KO2 are a bit slushy at low speed but no big deal. They ride great off road and on freeway. I did lose about 2 mpg.
Best prices I got were from costco

I just put a set of BFG KO2 265/70/17 on my TRD Sport...love these tires in the snow! They are little bigger than stock, but no rubbing issues whatsoever. Look great and fill the wheel well pretty well!

Quick question for everyone already running them - at what PSI are you running fronts and rears? Tire dealer put 40 psi all the way around...and that doesn't seem right to me. Any input is appreciated!!!

The dealer out mine at 31 psi. The stock tires are supposed to be at 29. I'm looking this up myself. My MPG is down to about 17 at best.

    Any input would be appreciated!

I run 35 PSI cold all around in my Load C KO2's in the same size as yours. Been that way for over 1,000 miles.

Do they make KO2 "C" load in a 265/65R17? I want to maintain stock tire size.

I wonder if the resulting lower MPG reading you folks are seeing is a result in the difference in tire diameter and your not getting a real accurate MPG reading from the computer anymore?

Only way to verify is the old fashioned way (write down mileage x[tire ratio difference] fill up, note gallons used --divide=real MPG)..?

I still lost about 2 MPG even when accounting for the slightly larger diameter. I have GPS on my radar detector and on Waze to verify that when at 70 mph, it's closer to 73 mph actual.
