I have seen where some people have stated that there is a software update on the transmission to help with the erratic shifting. Just wondering if this is true and if so has anyone had this done and did it improve the shifting points. I have also read that its not available at this time but they are working on one.

My truck was in for 5000 mile service on Dec 2, no tranny updates and no Entune Nav updates available at that time.

Most folks complaining about the transmission have the v6. So toyota updates the 4 cyl. go figure.

No the transmission is not fine. Do you even own a 2016 yet. If I remember right I saw you were waiting on one.

My transmission seems to be fine as well. Yes the shift points are a little weird at first, but once you get used to the changes it doesn't seem like anything is wrong. Coming from the 2nd gen, these are completely different trucks. Can't expect them to be the same. Put your foot a little closer to the floor and it has no problem getting to 2500-3000rpm and moving right along then shifting. If they do decide to update it, that's fine.
