Hi guys/gals, brand new to the page and i just had a couple questions regarding tonneau covers, specifically the Undercover Classic. First, does the outside overhanging lip of the cover come in contact with any paint, esp on the front corners when opening and closing? Secondly, i believe the Classic is lockable, so will that keep people from being able to take stuff out of the bed since Tacoma tailgates don't have a lock? And lastly, i know people with bigger trucks say its a 2-person operation to remove and install, but i'm 6'2" and have a decent wingspan, so can i remove the cover and replace by myself? I have a TRD Sport short bed

I used to have one on my 2002. I'll answer your questions the best I can with what I remember about it...

The outside lip didn't come in contact with mine, i want to say it's rubber where contact is made on the top of the bedrails and that theres a small gap so it doesn't rub.

On my 2002, when locked, you couldn't get in the bed. you could get the tailgate to unlatch, but the lip on the undercover would keep the tailgate from being able to lower.

my 2002 has the 6' bed, and i'm about 6', average wingspan... i could take mine on and off by myself, but i had to stretch as far as i possible could (like holding with my fingertips) It's doable to remove and replace on your own, especially if you've got a good wingspan, but it's a lot easier with two people.

I have 2015 Tacoma. I just purchased Undercover classic and no paint is touched from the cover. The tailgate does unlatch but stays closed when cover is down. I'm only 5'6" so i can't answer "taking it off alone", sorry.

    No, no paint is touched
Yes, all but the most determined. The cover is stout.
If you have room to maneuver, you can do it.

How are the locks supposed to function? I just bought a used Undercover Classic and the locks seem to turn the same way whether or not the key is in. Any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind. The seller gave me the wrong keys but now that I have the correct ones it's working fine.
