Looks so sick man!! Close ups would help!

How are your numbers? How hard was it to tackle? Any advice on getting the rivets out?

    Thanks!

I just updated my build with close up pics. Didn't take down any numbers :anonymous:
Wasn't to bad to do at all, simple concept being the bracket holes lines up with the rivet holes (they do need to be reemed with a 1/2" bit) no measuring required. The rivets were tough, definitely need a decent compressor, large diameter hose, and air hammer to get them out.

    Thanx Dude!

For the way I did the A-pillar, make sure you pick up like a 8 or 10 pack. I had a gap between the bracket strip and the a pillar strip so I used two back to back and it closed that gap perfectly. Now it's mounted to the A-pillar solid. Not like the screws, but still very strong.

Thanks man! It was a pain staking process and I am a bit sore today but it was worth it.

Photo dump as promised for @iJonny just a day late

The fender liner is the hardest part to remove since Toyota has about 20 screws and clips to make sure it is a pain in the ass to remove. The liner is sandwiched between the fender and flare and we found it easier to just remove the flare to make removing the liner easier. I definitely suggest extra fender flare clips for this job just in case. They came in handy for me!

    55996ff23da6e9c99b44ebef635c2d0f_5a9cd8fb4a7cc9c9f11216eed69f3739ddbfa42b.jpg

Once the liner is removed, you can start laying the template on. One step closer to cutting!

    00d65662de726dbc4cf09a38f1cf44da_30c9d9eacb0e4dc1953f8a8fa3cf976fe50c7a5f.jpg

Once you are sure the holes line up after checking 74 times, drill the big hole FIRST. Place the end of the snorkel that goes into the fender and triple check the bolt holes. The bolt holes, we found do not need to be drilled to the 5/8" diameter as the template said. However, one or two of them needed to be slightly enlarger to slide right in. I believe we drilled them to 7/16" instead. For me, the big hole did NOT need to be elongated.

    2988ccbd2d2a3edfee3f3157e3593e89_0fcaa49813dfbe5169c9682f6eac020f445729d5.jpg

After the holes are cut and the snorkel is bolted on, you can start to plumb the snorkel into the engine bay. I tried to use the stock tubing but I think my buddy and I were so tired and sore we used the tubing I got to plumb the snorkel and it worked perfect. The kit comes with some silicone tubing that slides onto the snorkel body and turns 90 degrees into the engine bay. We had to muscle it in there with me in the fender well and my buddy sliding it into the tubing. It fit perfectly and you just tighten down the supplied his clamps.

    e88972b54518c1586a20bbe04d71a0fa_ef6f603e1cc39dbc5b34f29504dd6f3e55e9066d.jpg

Once that is done we slid the silicone tubing onto that pipe and then onto the stock air box reusing the stock hose clamp. I was one short, I think, because I put a hose clamp on the snorkel body and the supplied hosing. (This was a pain in the ass..took 4 or 5 tries to finally get the hose clamp seated right.)

Once everything is connected and plumbed and tightened down, you are finished!

I will be getting more pics of everything like the completed plumbing under the hood once it stops raining.

    Things learned:

You ABSOLUTELY need a friend to help; a second person will make life way easier on you and a second set of eyes (opinion) is never a bad thing.

Take your time and you will be fine.

    A few MUST purchases (IMHO):

Is there a big gap between the fender and snorkel?

A little bit of a gap, yes. I can get you a number later if you'd like. This snorkel is not made for the Tacoma but can be modified to fit. There is a little bit of plastic that causes it to stick out from the fender that I could shave down a little bit, but I can always go back and do it later..it was a long day.
