    Hi TacomaWorld,

I put in an allocation preference for a Silver TRD ORDC AT with my dealership that should arrive in March. My current vehicle lease is almost up and I need to get a new vehicle and I've never owned a Tacoma before. I have been working as a salesman at a Toyota dealership for a couple months and I've developed a lot of love for the Tacoma and its passionate fans I see every week. My lifestyle has also changed a lot in the last few years and I would love something to carry a mountain bike or a deer carcass every so often and get me around the sticks with ease.

I have been researching a lot about the Tacoma and have been lurking this site for a while. I've decided I would finally register and be more active in the discussion and research as I count the days until I receive mine.

I actually was also considering the Tundra, but I don't need that much power for towing anything and a conservative, Tacoma-like redesign seems likely for MY17. The main reason I like the Tundra is that I'm 6'3" and only have about 1.5" of head clearance in a Tacoma and the steering wheel is very cozy with my knees. I sort of feel like I'm at the limit for being comfortable in it (on the other hand, the left-arm-angle for me in the Tacoma is the best of any vehicle ever). The Tundra MPG also is hard to swallow for all the utility I'm not actually utilizing it for. I figure if I like the new generation Tundra, I will have built up a lot of positive equity in my Tacoma by like 2017-2018 to trade it in, but I sort of think I will go to term in its financing and have it for a long time (giving me the flexibility for a daily driver and getting a Supra in 2017 or FR-S or something). I really love this truck.

The only things I plan to do at first are a straight level and swap out the wheels/tires for something more classic/conservative ("Baja" style or whatever those are called) with A/T tires. I think by hanging around here though I am going to end up wanting to do a lot more.

Anyway, thanks for the admins, mods, and people here for building up such a cool community to join. Look forward to learning a lot about Tacomas.
