I still have the stock Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure tires. They appear as pretty mild tires (thread wise), but seem to have more road noise than expected, just wanted to see others comments on this.

Its not the 35-45 mph (blowing over a beer bottle....) noise. I dont have that, just seems more to me like aggressive tire noise. I had DuraTracks on my 2013 and the noise seems similar. It not that bad or annoying, but just unexpected for such mild thread.??

I guess the underlying reason I am asking, is to see if its commonly reported (and the tires) and not some other noise.

I just come from a 2014 XterraS with stock street tires and it was much quieter in the cab..

    Thanks.

Not mud terrain noisy but you can definitely hear them at highway and interstate speeds. Quite a bit louder than the Rugged Fails and Cooper Discover AT3s I had on my 2012. Not sure what those people were smoking to give it an 8.3 for noise at tire rack.

    Thanks PJ

Yep, definitely disappointing as far as noise goes for such a mild thread... If only K02's came in other than load range "E" for my size. I think I'd upgrade soon. Maybe look at DuraTracks instead..?

Mine seem like decent road tires. Ride nice and quiet.

It's OEM designed for less rolling resistance; meaning harder/lighter materials, thinner sidewalls and shallower tread pattern.

As far as I know , Tacomas gets the Canadian/OEM version.

want a good quite tire. Swap for the Michelin M/S tire. It is soft good tread life and very quite. Have them on our 04 GX 460 and first set swapped at 60k just because cracking due to age. They were also on my 09 Ridgeline and original set went 100k then I went with another set and traded at 160 and still had 20k at least left on them. They do good also in normal wet and snow. If serious off roading in deep mud and rocks its not the tire. But if you use it mostly on paved or gravel roads even in snow and stuff they are great and no road noise. Plus will be softer ride. My Sport 4x4 has Toyos stock on them and they are not bad but Michelin M/S would be much better but ill wait to see what I do with my truck first.

I don't think they are that noisy. Well at least mines are at the moment.
