Sure is a weird December. Hit 60 today, but the wind was cranking.
Thinking of taking a nice woods walk in the morning.

    Everything TW members recommend
OK. I need some input from level headed people that have been around the block a few times. And this is that group:

My wife, Anna drives the truck most of the time. It's speedway blue and we've had it since we bought it new over 10 years ago.
Well, I found a custom decal vendor (ruggedT, an official TW vendor) that's been helping me with a design to replace the OEM bedside decal of our truck.
Some history: Anna was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer about three years ago. She went through chemo and a double mastectomy and is cancer free today. She's healthier than i am for sure.

More background: "Pinoy Warrior" stands for Filipino Warrior. This, and "All in for the Fight" has been our family's mantra since Anna was diagnosed. Our very large extended family on both sides have used these fight'n phrases in all and any event that we do. We've had it imprinted on t-shirts and such. 5 k's, 10 k's, triathlons, picnics, vacations, bike rides. Anything and everything. I guess having it on the truck just continues in our "tradition."

The blue background represents the truck body color and will not be part of the color scheme of the decal. The decal can really only be two colors.
Pink color stays. The original design had the "TRD" in pink, but I asked that it be the shadow of the TRD instead. A little more subtle, I think.
I'm concerned that having the words "survivor" might jinx me and be that "knock on wood" kinda thing. Should I just take it out?
Should my wife's name be on it? Is this way too over the top?
I'm gonna surprise her with this, but need affirmation that I'm headed in the right direction.
Before I finalize, some input and additional constructive design ideas are welcome.

Leave it as is. Putting words on a decal on the side of your truck will have zero to do with her body. I'm superstitious about some things in a silly way but in most respects, logical. And there is no logical way to believe using or not using the word "Survivor" or her name is going to jinx you and her. If the worst thing comes about... it will NOT be because of the decal.

Now... having said all that. If you wouldn't sleep well worrying about the jinx, then don't use it, not worth it.

    My $.02. Anyone else ?

    You answered your own question.
    Just remove the survivor.
I think it looks great just the way it is.

Congrats to your strong wife and family. I love the decal and I'm not the least bit superstitious. Put what you and your wife want on the truck, think of it as a rolling reminder of your wife's,and yours, courage.

Your $.02 is exactly what I could write myself Cam, if I was any good with words. I had to get up and take a deep breath after I read the OP. Didn't help that today I had an extended discussion with a much younger guy at work today that was complaining to me that his wife was from the Phillipines (or what I always referred to as PI for Philippine Islands, been there a lot) and "the whole damned extended family" was coming to their place for Christmas. I ended up basically giving up trying to explain to him how lucky he was and told him to count his blessings and walked away. And the cancer hits way too close to home not only for me but too many others on here I'm sure.

Yeah leave it, very well done. And all the mojo I can muster sent for continued success!

I like it. I would just leave the name off. You know how people are in today's world but that's just me.

There are not too many here that have not been affected by this disease , myself included.
Again, good job, It'll mean a lot to her.

    @Subway4X4

I'm gonna say leave the decal exactly as you have it, this is why: Leaving "Anna" and "survivor" on the ribbon is an inspiration and gives hope to those folks who are just starting their battle. That's my gut feeling. :notsure:

Great job with the design, it looks great!

Good Morning Moose, my mild lift is complete and I'm happy with the results. The trucks level and the ride is a little firm but smooth. :)

Wish I needed on of those bedside stickers. My mom is most likely going to be a victim, not survivor. "God only knows what I'll be without her" keeps playing over and over in my mind. I won't be a son anymore, kids will have 1 less grandparent. I don't feel ready to be the patriarch of the family at 55. I have 3 younger sisters that are on the same suck journey losing our precious mother and will support each other. I know God won't give me more than I can handle and believe that and have told mom that we will be OK because of her and what has been instilled in each of us growing up. I also know there is going to be a period of me not giving a crap about much and hope no one pushes a wrong button during that period to test my tolerance and restraint. I might not have as much as usual.

So sorry Brother. My thoughts and prayers for your Mom, your family, and you.

I've said this on here before, but give it some thought ... when you need to vent, come here and unload on us. Better here than on those there with you. Personally, I'm open to a PM if you need somewhere to rattle out your grief and frustrations. Willing to listen ...
