Stopped by the dealership today and they had four '16 on the lot. Two Sport, one Limited and one OR. All were 4x4 double cabs. Didn't have the time for a test drive, but here are my thoughts for sitting in the OR and staring into the others:

    - I was really worried the 5' bed was going to be too small, but it should work for me. I love the 110V outlet. Never needed one, but always wanted one. Blender for the pre-game drinks I guess. Those two storage cubbies are not water tight, so they're basically worthless. Of all the gear I haul in my ride, I can' think of a single thing that I'd want to put in there.
    - I'm not a big fan of sunroofs (paying for a hole in the roof rubs me wrong), but I really like the one in the taco. It helps make the cabin feel more roomy.
    - Folks here complain about the seat comfort. The OR I sat in wasn't too bad; fine for normal driving. But I can see how they might suck for long drives. Will have to really ponder this. I also was a bit turned off by the lack of leg room in the back. I've got two young ones and they need room.
    - The cabin felt much larger that earlier generations. Granted, when I was looking at them a couple of years ago I was driving a F-150, so everything was "small" relative to my truck. I can understand why folks don't like that orange interior, but for some reason I liked it.

One of the Sports was silver, manual and only had the tow package. Probably the perfect combination for me. I had to force myself to drive off before I did something stupid.

So much to ponder. If Toyota offered the manual tranny in the Limited, things would be much easier...

Lucky you that you have 4x4 in stock local to you, even manual trans! Nothing around here

I found a sport 4x4 DC with tow package. With taxes would be 38K for me.

Yeah you should test drive that manual while you have a chance... I've been looking for one within a 500 mile radius of me for months now and haven't found a single one.

I might try and sneak back this weekend and get a test drive in, especially with the manual. We shall see...

I use the cubbies. With a tonneau across the whole bed, the cubbies don't really need to be air tight to be useful. But I still kept a hammer for driving tent pegs into the ground back there along with some cargo straps in case I needed to secure something large.
