I am also having an issue with the Messages App, but it is a bit different than the other ones I've seen reported here. I have a Nexus 5 running Marshmallow 6.0, I am able to receive messages and they can be read successfully and I can see the text content when stopped, but none of my contact names are showing up. Every message is from "Unknown". The Phone App seems to be able to read my contacts and display them correctly, so the problem is exclusive to the Messages App. Has anyone else experienced (and hopefully fixed) this issue?

I have the exact same setup and problem as you. I have made sure that the truck has imported my contacts, so I am not sure what the issue is.

I'm not an android user but for the iPhone there is a setting in the Entune section under bluetooth. Once your in there you go to sync contacts. Once I did that, the names starting popping up when I started to receive texts.

Maybe there is a similiar setting on the android. Hope that helps and good luck.

^^^This is a similar setting under the 'Bluetooth' setting panel, when you click the settings for 'Toyota Tacoma'. I do have 'contact sharing' checked, but it still does not show up on the screen.

He is talking about pushing buttons *in the car*, not on the phone.

UPDATE: I got the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update yesterday and it seems to have fixed the issue. I can now see all the contact names in the Messages App.
