new tacoma owner

Picked up my first tacoma a few weeks ago. It's an 01, some what stock besides supercharger and intake. Changing out the muffler to a magnaflow in the coming weeks. Anything I need to know about the charger maintenance and what not? Previous owner said the snout oil was changed recently. Thanks

make sure the timing belt is relatively new. make sure coolant is clean. make sure all the fluids have been changed (diffs, tranny, power steering, blinker fluid, brake fluid, etc etc ). get a scangauge and make sure your fuel trims are +or- 0-4%. make sure all vacuum hoses are in good health. make sure your brake booster works. check your fuel filter. brake pad/shoe life/adjustment. check the rubbers on all your linkages and make sure the boots are in good shape.

make sure there's no rust on the frame!

you may want to do something about that severed head you got on your passenger side door.

 

It did come with a scan gauge which I thought was really cool. And yes the brakes are in need of replacing for sure. How can I tell about the timing belt without tearing into it too much? Fuel filter will be replaced too

 

There should be a sticker on your timing cover stating when it was replaced. If not, assume it has never been changed
