Just got my 16 tacoma this Friday, what do y'all recommend I upgrade on it? I've seen the LED interior lights and also k&n filter no intake yet for sell, also looking into getting some mud terrain tired, mine came with the rugged terrain looking for something more meaty, but nothing crazy on the size. Thanks!

Keep the stock paper filter the K&N is a waste of money.

I always wondered about that. I kind of think you are paying for the name.

Assuming you live where there is never snow a good m\t tire and blacked out rims would be nice. You said small, but mentioned tires so thought I'd throw that in.

The black trd forerunner wheels look sharp if you ask me.

Someone here plasti dipped some sport rims and it looked real nice. Myself I can't recommend plasti dip, I have never used it. I would also be nervous about doing that to a brand new oem wheel. People say you can "peel" it off if you don't like it. But I'm skeptical, picky, and don't have much time.
I would also be worried about a strong spray wash taking off the dip.

Molded floor mats or liners aka husky and weathertec look nice. Unless you have the nice factory ones and not the lame universal mat

I'll stick to OEM air filter then:thumbsup:
Tire size right now is 265/65/17, and wheel wise I'm thinking of just keep those for now, and yeah never snows, located Deep South Texas by the border,
I've heard weather tech is really good thinking of going with those:D

Go with Husky Xact Fits if they make them for your year. I had the Weatherfails and would never buy them again

Pretty vague and open-ended question the OP is asking. You;d have to be more specific about what you want to do with the truck. Tons of guys seems to switch the stock wheels and tires before they even drive theirs off the lot and add a lift kit, and for them that's what they like. I'd never do anything like that, and for me it was more about tailoring the vehicle more for all the outdoor activities I like, so I added a roof rack, trailer hitch bike rack, tube steps to make it easier to get SUP boards on an off the roof, and a camper shell to haul stinky gear and the dog. You might get some better answers if you're more specific about what you plan to do with the truck.

In my opinion, you cant got wrong with a bed cover. I plan on getting some sort of tri-fold cover for mine. Nerf bars seem to be a good investment also. Floor liners couldn't hurt. Bed mat. I just picked up my Taco yesterday and my first upgrade is going to be window tint (only because the dealership is doing it for free).

K&N filters aren't a waste of money if rodents are a problem in your area. I got one cause the steel mesh keeps the buggers from chewing on my filter element!

My favorite one for my 2nd Gen was the mirror relocation bracket mod. Is that one necessary on a 3rd Gen? If so, that's the first thing I'd do.

Not sure why the other guy had problems with the weather techs?

I've had them for years in different Tacomas and have been very happy with mine

Huge upgrade over stock and they cover and protect a whole lot more.

    Never had huskies

    I don't have a 16

But a bed mat and floor liners were my firsts and have never regretted them
