Wow just wow, you must be another Toyota empolyee.
Look you obviously dont understand this. TacoJonn is not Toyota employee so he is not getting new Tacoma at the discount, for him that truck has to fulfill his needs and I understand that, exactly just like for the rest of us non Toyota employees.
Now let me tell you something that I think you should take to Toyota management (I have a suspition you are Toyota employee) .
If your new truck can not make TacoJonn who owns 1gen crave new truck, you are going to get your ass handover too you by Ford, Honda and GM.

I have better idea, why dont we have IP addresses listed so we can weed out Toyota employees posting incognito. .
That wa ywe can get real reviews not spam.

Personally......for the sake of FEEDBACK.....I love to see the complaints, the problems, and the issues. It's not any different than reading customer reviews on Amazon before buying a product??

I'm personally shopping around and will probably test drive several trucks (toyota & others). I've been visiting other forums (non toyota) reading about their complaints & issues. This is a good thing. When it comes time to make decisions - we take everything into account and weigh the options. I can take all that information and use it to my advantage when it comes time to purchase something.

Every new vehicle will have issues when its NEW. My 07 had several issues during the 3/36 period. What will that truck be like at the 4th year?

To me...every vehicle & manufacturer has to prove itself. Even Toyota.... What's that saying? What goes up must come down? Toyota has had a long history of reliability and they still do. But, like ALL companies around the world....parts & labor keep getting more expensive and their profit margins are growing thinner. It's a no brainer....companies are cutting back on quality & quantity to get more profits. Our trucks are not the same quality as the trucks built 10 or even 20 years ago.

So....keep the feedback coming. There are people who want to read about whatever makes these 2016's tick.....good or bad.

THIS! I get some people just sort of want to point out the bad but let's be honest, this is the first year of the new model and we want to know how things are going for something that has yet to prove its reliability. In fact I'd be bummed out personally if the 2nd gen made it these past 10 years without anyone saying anything negative about the leaf springs sucking for example. Cause then I'd be like wtf guys why didn't you tell me this was a common thing.

Let the issues pop up and we will see what becomes commonplace and what stays isolated incidents. Helps shape what we will (hopefully) find is yet another reliable Toyota truck....or not. Time will tell.

And on a side note I'm also sick of this "you hate it cause you can't afford one" crap, it's just as bad as everyone else saying "well your 3rd gen is poop cause it's new".

ECT button..ect.ect ect....Seriously anyone test driving needs to hit this button after driving 5-10 minutes in the regular mode. This only gets better when the engine breaks in and the computers learns your driving habits. ECT will give the instant response you would expect but you will kill your gas mileage--I suspect that the ECT might disable the atkinson cycle mode.

The only issue that is legit imo is the vibration at certain rpms....everything else is minor and can happen with any new car regardless of make or if its a "new" model.

I guess I don't read every thread here, like some people on the forum that have no lives and have 15,000 posts in 1-1/2 years, but what vibes are you referring to?

Yes don't take the thread down, I'm going to ask BlueT again why I can't try a double cab M/T in the canyorado and I'm hoping he'll answer me this time. Not sure why our resident GM spokesman can't respond to reasonable queries such as this.

I was told its for the same reason as to why we can not order Toyota regular cab with 2.7 manual.
Not sure if that make sense to you.

Yeah I have a 4 cyl tacoma with a regular cab and I can't fathom why anyone would not want more space. But please, don't answer the question, because that would seriously fuck my worldview up just having to realize that you might actually be able to respond to new stimuli instead of spewing the same old shit and avoiding the question.

No it's an 02. Trolling aside, I would have been more than happy to drive a double cab m/t colorado, but it's not even an option. I know that's not a big deal to some people but to me it's an insult and more than that it says they're not serious about catering to people who want a more intimate experience with the vehicle's drivetrain. If I'm driving an automatic I might as well be driving a fucking sedan.

Bunch of 3rd gen elitists who seem to think that they are the only ones in the world who could afford one. It's not that we can't afford them, we just choose not to buy a vehicle that is a total afterthought by a company who used to make good trucks that's all.

These guys obviously need to watch the movie Idiocracy.
